Big Men in 2018/19

Ok, in 217-18, we ran 3 "real" bigs - LMA, Pau, and Joffrey, as well as some combo forwards - Rudy Gay, Bertans, Anderson, (Kawhi).
Of these players, we have lost Joffrey, and Anderson and Bertans are RFAs. Kawhi is a question mark.

This thread is about 2 things. 1) Should we have another "real" big on the roster next year (I thought only running 3 put us in some awkward situation last year). 2) What prospects would you like to bring in as "real" big men?

1) IMO, the roster should have 4 bigs. Especially as Pau may be trade bait - that partial guarantee may be quite attractive at the deadline. Also, I think the traditional big has become an undervalued market for impact. I would like to see LMA, Pau, developmental big man, cheap (undervalued) reliable veteran.

2) My suggestions:
As developmental big man: Milutinov - bring him over and see what we drafted. Especially, if I understand correctly, this is the last season we can get him on his rookie contract; after this he comes out of cap space or non-rookie exceptions.

As undervalued reliable veteran: Greg Monroe. He's a surprisingly good player according to the advanced stats - wp/48 .249, VORP 1.2, BPM 2.4 , WS/48 .155, - and I think he's going to end up being cheap somewhere ( I suspect he's not back to Boston, as they have Horford, Baynes, Theis and drafted Williams).

I wonder if both 2 way contracts are bigs. Spurs have 3 first round draft picks as guards, plus 2-3 veterans (green, Mills, beli).

You or someone else may clear this up but the Spurs gave a QO to Hilliard. The 2 way contracts are new and I don't really know much about this anywyas, but I got the impression the offer is for a second year 2 way contract. In that case they maybe let Costello go bc they plan to sign Metu as a 2 way deal together with Hilliard. Reality is I don't know.

From the CBA FAQ:

When a team signs a first round draft pick within three years after he is drafted, they use the salary scale for the year in which he signs (usually the player signs in the same year he is drafted). After three years they have the option of either using the salary scale or signing him as if he was a free agent -- using their cap room or any available exception, with the standard raises. They can only do the latter if the player did not play intercollegiately in the interim. Such a contract must be for at least three seasons, and the salary in the first season must be greater than 120% of the applicable rookie scale amount.

He was drafted in 2015 so the three years have passed. They can still use the rookie scale or what's left of the MLE after the Beli signing.

Rookie scale amount for the 26th pick: 1.2*$1,419,700 = $1,703,640 (unless they want to screw him over and give him less than the standard 120%)
MLE: $8,641,000
remaining MLE amount after Beli's contract: around $2,600,000

That means the most they could offer him over three years is 2,600,000 + 2,730,300 + 2,860,000 = 8,190,300.

Maybe they rushed that Belinelli signing so that Milutinov's camp wouldn't have the chance to ask for a bigger contract (as was mentioned in the Think Tank thread).
