The title of the thread should be the "Illusive Earth Society of LW". I like this kid already. Intellectual AND can throw down some street talk.

Grayson allen is faster, can jump higher, better shooter, better defender, and has a better haircut.

He needs a TON of reps.

His shot selection is terrible.

But he's gonna be pretty good in the near future. Hopefully he doesn't leave us.

Rewatched the game. On his jump shots and three point shots Walker was almost always on line off the front of the rim or in and out. Had a couple of nice drives with good ball handling. Made a couple of nice off the ball cuts. White had a ton of in and out or off the front of the rim shots. I’m liking what I’m seeing so far

According to his interview, he does. In fact, he implied he thought the moon and stars were fake because they looked "too perfect." :lol

No, he said the Universe (including the Earth) is an illusion, like the Matrix.

What makes this clown even more laughable is that he doesn't even cite ANY kind of evidence like Cosmo, God bless his heart, does. He just says, "it looks too perfect to me". GTFO. You make stupid claims just because "you feel"?!!?!!? I'm hoping I misread this, but didn't someone say his glasses at the draft were fake glasses??!!?

Why can't you be both? “intellectual type” can have any set of ideas.

nah conspiracy theories where you just shit out ideas that vaguely form in your head aren't really the markings of an intellectual type

No, he said the Universe (including the Earth) is an illusion, like the Matrix.

He means it's a holographic projection. This is a hypothetical from a couple of theoretical elemental physicists.

agree but having a "conspiracy theory" and being an intellectual type aren't mutually exclusive.
I'm particularly thinking of some of the tech/science gurus that say we are probably living in a simulation.

i could say i believe in string theory that doesnt mean im a theoretical physicist.

just because some smart people may or may not share his opinion doesn't mean it reflects some sort of intellectualism.

Right. I wasn't making the point that he is an intellectual. Just that believing in a ct and being intellectual aren't mutually exclusive.

the impression i got from his comments weren't that he thought the moon landing was a conspiracy or that the earth was flat. i got the impression that he was stating that reality is an illusion. this is not a conspiratorial thought at all.

Didn't Feynman think that too? That the chances of our universe being a simulation on a highly advanced computer is almost 100% given how many computers are or will be capable of it?

he wasn't the only one. there are several theoretical physicists who regard the universe as either a matrix or a hologram and then there are also several philosophers who regard reality as either an illusion or simply a construct of our perceptions (idealism, for instance).

Right. My point is that Feynman is highly respected, so having that belief alone shouldn't subject someone to criticism.
