Excluding the resolution of the Leonard situation and looking at trades, signings and draft picks which teams do you expect to have improved or gotten worse for the 2018-2019 season?

Better: Lakers among playoff teams, Mavs and Suns for lottery teams
Worse: Pelicans(they had a historic run of winning coin flip games last season), Blazers, Spurs(also wouldn't be surprised if Utah regresses)

I don't see many teams having gotten much better, to be honest, other than the Lakers, and they just got a big happy circus around them and a treadmill of higher mediocrity.

Off the top of my head:
Declined: Cleveland obviously, Toronto, Spurs.
Improved: Lakers obviously, Dallas (likely playoff team), Boston and Philly just with seasoning of young player, Memphis if better health, Orlando with Bamba an Issac, NY a little

How are the spurs worse. We gonna get something for Kawhi or he will play. Immediately we are better with those two options.

Because as things stand now, you have to assume Kawhi isn’t playing. So that is the same as last year. SA lost TP and replaced him with Beli so that is a win. But they lost Kyle and have not replaced him and he was a very good player for SA.

So as things stand, losing TP/Kyle and getting Beli is a net loss for SA until something actually changes.

Lakers got better with Bron obviously but the rest of their moves have been questionable.

Lost Randle/Lopez and replaced with McGee, Lance & Rondo? McGee/Lance < Randle/Lopez. Rondo will be some nice depth for them and should help defensively and pushing the ball.

NO really got worse. I like Randle a lot actually but he still has some flaws and losing Rondo/Cousins hurts them.

MEM got better with adding JJJ/Kyle.

Mavs definitely got better with Doncic and Jordan.

PHX got more talent with Bridges, Ayton and Ariza but I don’t know how much that needle moves in reality. But they got better.

UTA didn’t improve at all.

SA got worse until other moves take place (if at all).

HOU got worse by losing Ariza and if they lose LMAM that will hurt as well.

Basically all the teams that improved in the West were teams that don’t matter and all the good playoff teams (UTA, NO, HOU, SA) got worse as things stand. Great off season for GS and I”m not talking Boogie.

Plus Gasol is a year older, a year slower and given the current state of the bigs likely to play more.

Also it's hard to see LMA having a season similar to the one he had last year when he's another year older into his 30s

Pacers should be better. They had the Cavs on the ropes and added KOQ and Tyreke.

Golden State took a big chance bringing in the most toxic player in the NBA. Look how much better the Pelicans got after Cousins left! They went on a winning streak and made it past the 1st round of the playoffs. I predict he ruins their already fragile chemistry.

Lakers of course are better. Portland will be good, and the Suns should be better.

I like the Spurs to win 47-52 games but it's impossible to know until the Kawhi thing works out. I still think he might be on the team to start the season.

Spurs lost: Tony Parker, Kyle Anderson and Joffrey Lauvergne
and possibly worsened due to: Gasol (age); Forbes (just flat out sucks)

Spurs gained: Marco Belinelli (cajones), Derrick White (minutes), Gay (health),
and possibly gained: Murray (shooting); Walker IV (athleticism)

Bertans is a tossup.

Even with the Kawhi question ignored, the Spurs will be difficult to decipher.

Suns will make the biggest positive jump in wins.

I think our young team will surprise everybody, with the development of White and hopefully Murray. 2 yrs removed Gay will be much better hopefully 18pts 6reb. Beli will be positive. If we can keep KL, we are 2nd best team and even possibly beat Dubs.

Murray/Mills/Forbes
White/Walker/Manu?
Kawhi/Green/Filler
Gay/Bertran/Putney
LMA/Gasol/Metu

Is Milutinov coming?
