Considering how bad the East is, this is a real shot for him to be an MVP candidate again, and lead the Raptors to a ton of wins. But why do I get the feeling he will bitch out again? I give him 2 or 3 good months and his aches and pains will be sinking in..

I kind of feel bad for the people of Toronto. They are devastated to have lost Derozan. What will even suck more for them is when Leonard goes into mute, queer mode again and decides to fake like he’s hurt and miss half the season. What a wuss he turned out to be.

Worst thing is Toronto is an amazing city. They don't deserve the faggotry they're going to have to deal with from Leonard in his Lakers audition year.

So who's writing the Comic Sans letter, tbh?
Spurs fans,
Dear, loyal fans. Today we say goodbye to a player who had minimal skills at best when he joined but left with the idea that he's a superstar - a superstar who sat out an entire season, collected a huge paycheck and then set out to screw the organization that cultivated him from the dirt in which he grew in California. Yes it's true, Kawhi was a talent and a rapid learner. He came in shooting less than stellar from the 3 point line, but became a legitimate threat from there. He was a shaky freethrow shooter as we saw in game 6 of the 2013 NBA Finals, but became one of the best in the league at it in such a short time. He only worked with Kobe for a minimal amount of time, maybe even just a phone call or a glance, however he learned how to sit out entire seasons and yet screw the franchise at the same time and demand more than he's actually worth. There's a reason no other team wanted to commit a high salary for many years to him.
Some of you might think, and it's been mentioned here in certain circles that have now moved East (I won't say any nom de plumes) that Kawhi Leonard is a high functioning Autistic. I'm not here to discuss that and it would never be part of our conversation here in San Antonio, we are a classy organization.
We will move on from this brief blip on our 20 year trajectory. We will be stronger for having gone through it. We certainly wish Kawhi well. We also wish the Toronto Raptors well. In fact, we wish them the success they had last season where they finished atop the East. At the same time though, we are excited to move foward with the group of young players, and Manu. So we hope you continue to root for the Spurs, and if you bought a Kawhi Leonard jersey or any gear with Kawhi's name or number in the past year, you should be able to still wear it around the house.
Danny Green will be missed. He was one Kawhi Leonard free throw from having a Finals MVP. That illustrates how unstable that award really is, how fluky, I suppose. At least since around 2012 or so. Gary Neal could have won it. Imagine that.

It's bizarre how the Kawhi era ended here in SA. Just never thought it was possible for him to go out in a more disgraceful way than even Dennis Rodman.

Unlikely but I'm hoping he can still change his mind and thought about returning/signing with the Spurs next offseason. I mean if he realizes the mess they did and the hate and pressure he'll receive, the only way to redeem himself is to go back with Spurs. Who knows - it's still very unlikely though but given a chance, he'll be forgiven.

I know. It's still hurts. :lol But man, hate to see if Kawhi suddenly plays like pre-injury Kawhi then he goes to LA. Maybe if OG Anunoby is included, I'm quite happy with the trade. Just can't see soon how the Spurs will replace Kawhi especially on defensive end. Remember when we lost Bowen, RJ took place and we know how it goes on defensive end. Just really hard to swallow at the moment.

Without Kawhi it's Kobe 5>Duncan 4. Show some goddamn appreciation for 5-6 years of actually watchable Spurs basketball. The first wave of titles ('03, '05, and '07) were as exciting as watching paint dry.
Show him some love ffs

Players are really going to go at Kawhi mentally. Don't see Raptor players getting his back as long as he disses Toronto. He could have a really tough season.

I always had a suspicion that Kawhi isn’t a smart man. Hell of a basketball player, but dumb as rocks. I think he has allowed himself to be manipulated and will probably continue to do so for the rest of his career. It will be limiting to his potential and hurt him tremendously. It’s too bad that he isn’t smart enough to realize what’s happening to him. I feel bad for him, but he should have taken control of his own life. I’m sure his days of getting fucked over and manipulated are far from over.

I refuse to blame any of this on kawhi, I believe he had good reasons wanting to leave, something has change in the organization and in pop, you would never find more spurs material player than kawhi, is the most real, all about winning guy, we lost a one and only beautiful player, closest resemblance to Duncan you would ever find... That kind of guy would not leave if not right and have good reason, so only pop and his shit is to fault here, he costs us kawhi and it's unforgivable, sorry to see all here still act with the pathetic sense like pop is the second coming of Jesus instead of making hate threads towards him!!!

Well, there's that little detail of Rodman joining a team that had a certain greatest basketball who ever lived along with another HOF wingman...

I hope uncle dennis gets taken out by a bird scooter next year in LA.
People to blame uncle Dennis, but Leonard is a grown man. At some point you would have to think that he could think, or speak for himself. I was just browsing around different message boards and he is becoming one of the more hated individual in the league. I can't understand why he is letting some family member taint his image.

This is true, and they are the plurality on that site, but their attempts to make defend what Leonard did are sickening. I know we have to hope for Toronto to be a solid playoff team, but I'm really disgusted by happy they are. If Anthony Davis were a sniffling loser (and he's not as far as we know -- this is hypothetical) on an expiring contract, and PATFO traded LMA for him, I wouldn't be trying to rewrite history. I'd know it's a talent upgrade, but I'd also feel like Davis would have to prove something to me before I supported him.

A lot of these fans will worship the ground that the players on their teams walk on and will give them a pass. Just look at how Laker fans in here are defending Kawhi 24/7 for what he did simply because he will end up as a Laker. I remember even King fans giving Demarcus Cousins a pass for being a rotten person after a video was released of him bullying and threatening an old reporter. I think in general most people are retarded and don't have the ability to be objective.

Another dynamic here is that the NBA attracts a lot of far-left fans who always side with players on everything no matter what because they're the "labor" side. They always want the players to have all the power and refuse to admit that this can make the product worse for the fans in some ways.

Agreed those fans tend to have a cuck mentality when it comes to the players which is pretty frustrating.
