Every Single thread 1st page in the raptors forum is about kawhi.

The Raps know how to embrace a stars stardom.

Something San Antonio knows nothing about.

What is the link to the Raptors forum?

He is so fucking good though. Also, I know hes not the kind of selfless humble guy I thought he was for so long but I had really become attached to him and pictured him in a certain way. Its like jarring my mental image was shattered so bad. Never saw this whole saga coming. Pretty heartbreaking

What’s ironic for me is that two of my favorite teams this week lost superstars. Leonard with the Spurs and Machado for the Orioles. It’s funny because both trades pretty much happened on the same day. Only difference is Machado wasn’t a queer throughout his situation like Leonard was.

From what I understand from my Canadian friends, Toronto media is not expecting to hear from Kawhi until training camp l.

I'm fairly certain he would've stayed had he been offered the money. Too bad that money has been tied up by Chris Davis, tbh. Still can't believe we picked him over Cruz and failed to deal Britton at the end of 2016. Now admittedly, while I thought Ubaldo would be a bad investment, I was all about the Alex Cobb signing.

But yeah, Peter Angelos is on the opposite end compared to PATFO.

BTW, I'm from the other side of the state (MoCo). I was already an O's fan before the Nats showed up. Even though the Nats have consistently been the better team, I'll always be an O's fan. I like the O's blue collar culture and I think the Nationals are just a product (as all sports teams are) but they don't even make an effort to even look like an actual baseball team. Just a product for yuppies to consume when they feel bored. How did you get on the Spurs train? For me it had to do with them being the anti-Lakers from a cultural and being their clear "rival" in the post-Jordan/pre-Lebron era 1998-2010.

Isn't that what separates the average, the good, the ne'er do wells, and even the very good from the great? Many think 'I'm just as good as..." but how many are willing to do what it takes to consistently be great? Obviously Leonard can be a key component on a championship team, but being the man for a franchise? That's not him.

Players who try to manipulate owners to get to where they want to be, only play when they want to play and how they want to play rarely end up being consider great, even if they are insanely talented.

Vancouver is better than both.

I hope Leonard doesn't stay. It would make the trade look even worse from the Spurs perspective. Even though it's not the Raptors fault and the trade was a no brainer from their perspective, I still don't like that they were able to get him without having to feel any pain (Anunoby, Mills instead of Green, even looser protection on pick).

I worked on average 82 hours a week last year tbh. Besides the team was boring without him. As a fan I'm not sentenced to watch the team for the rest of my life lol. I started following the Spurs because I liked them and found interesting. If I stop finding them interesting I'll stop watching. Simple as that

I can see Toronto catering to Uncle Dennis to a certain extent. They want them to feel welcomed, a part of the team/city/etc... I doubt we’ll hear anything about wanting a FO job or special section on the plane or anything too outrageous. I did see where one of the beat writers mention that they asked Kawhi his thoughts on the roster/potential moves. Norman Powell’s mom is friends with Kawhi’s mom and said she’d do everything in her power to convince Kawhi and family to stay and feel welcomed.

Could just be PR but it’s interesting that many are now thinking there’s a good chance he stays.

I didn’t think he’d go at all but maybe he is.

I’ve been a member here since 2005. GS was my second favorite team at that time and that’s why I listed them. I didn’t know you couldn’t change it but people who have been around that long knows that story and knows I’m a Spurs fan first.

Sorry my avi offends you but it stays for the time being.

:lol how funny and convenient that a supposed "Spurs fan first" puts the avi of a scumbag who just pulled a bush league move for the ages against them..Who are you trying to fool really?

And no it is not about me it is about the entire Spurs fanbase at this hour..

Also loveforthegame, is there an explanation why San Antonio got bumped from the "My team:... " in favor of GS at this specific moment? you at least should know that there will be trying times ahead for SA, right?

I was always a huge David Robinson fan growing up. All my HS buddies were on the Bulls bandwagon and I just liked how professional Robinson always carried himself. And of course I couldn’t stand Tim Duncan because he used to give the Terps fits, but I almost fell out of my chair the year we got the number one pick. I was sure Boston was going to get that pick and we would end of with Keith Van Horn or somebody.

As for the O’s I actually liked the Davis signing when it happened. He was better defensively than Cruz and was younger. I had no idea he would fizzle completely out the way he did. As for the Nats I agree completely. It’s like they just put a team there so DC could have a team. People here like to always bash Angelos for not wanting to spend money. But when you think about it he does. It’s just that all the big money signings he goes after usually ends of fizzling out bad. Angelos couldn’t have had any idea that Ubaldo and Davis would turn out to be so terrible. He tried with Texaria, but dude was never coming here. He just used the O’s as leverage.

I put him in the Derek Anderson/Rod Strickland category, great players that wanted to be gone. That's ok, its a business. Maybe he didn't like puffy tacos, who the hell knows? We move on and maybe get better not having to deal with a guy, great as he was, who had to be handled with kid gloves because he is either very sensitive or just plain nuts. Done writing about him.

Anderson didn’t want to be gone necessarily. He just wanted to be paid and Pop and RC lowballed him and he felt disrespected. He played all 82 games that season (nothing like kawhi) and only ended Bc Juwan Howard took him out in playoffs.
