Getting good reviews from the audience
"Two kinds of people will enjoy this brilliant movie--patriotic Americans and viewers who are open minded enough to have not yet drunk the toxic Kool-aid of the left. Two kinds of people will condemn this brilliant movie (in most if not all cases without even viewing it)-the toxic left and the low information people who rely on the propaganda of the mainstream media. Here's a quote from the greatest hits of minister Goebbels: "If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State." The modern iteration of this principle as peddled by the true colluders, the democrat party and the state controlled media, is "you can get them to believe any lie you want by just getting it out there through the mainstream media and just KSI--Keep Sayin' It!" 0% rating by the State Controlled media vs 71% by audience is the big lie in action."

I mean, hypothetically speaking, even if the audience score was 10% you'd just say it was because of liberals dragging the rating down. So you seem to have made your mind up about the movie regardless, just like the "base" who is predisposed to like this movie and therefore will rate it positively whether or not it has objective merits as a film.

I explained why. The 74 percent is an indicator that the movie is something the target audience liked. It's significantly high given the likelihood that trolls are artificially reducing the score. My best guess would be that this is a 85-90 percent or better movie otherwise.
You're trying to make a case that I'm mindlessly doing this or that. I've already said I'm familiar with his work. I have a good idea of what the movie is likely going to be like. I dunno why given that that you think it's so important that I go out and see it.

This theory basically assumes that the positive reviews are largely from people who have seen the movie while the negative reviews are largely people who haven't. You acknowledge that partisans one side would attempt to influence the score without seeing the movie, but can't imagine partisans on the other side would do the same thing.
What I'm saying is they're both doing it. A substantial number of the positive and negative ratings for this movie are from people who haven't seen it. You can tell based on the number of reviews. It has over 800 user reviews. By comparison, "The Spy Who Dumped Me," which is showing in 3x as many theaters and has sold 2x as many tickets per theater has a little over 1000.
You're trying to make a case that I'm mindlessly doing this or that. I've already said I'm familiar with his work. I have a good idea of what the movie is likely going to be like. I dunno why given that that you think it's so important that I go out and see it.

It's simple math Spurmy that you could've done. Whether you suck at simple math or are just hoping I suck at simple math I don't know.
Sure, there are some cons who didn't see the movie who voted it up. But any con who cares that much is going to be predisposed to watch it and give it a good rating anyway. Whereas, liberals trolls are not paying to go watch the movie when they vote it down. 74 percent is basically a min floor and as I said an indicator that the movie hits a high standard for what it is.
If you took 500 liberals and 500 conservatives and forced them to watch the movie would it be 74 percent? It might be 60 percent. But it's obviously stupid to see it that way. I'm sure cartoon movies that get 95 percent is based on the target audience and not gen pop.
I don't know how repeatedly encouraging someone to watch a movie is mockery. It seems to me that you maybe want a review from someone you know :lol

Gullible Chris and his dumb Twitter sources... Didn't even click the link.
But D’Souza’s fourth film has posted the lowest opening weekend of his career, with $2.3 million from 1,032 screens for a per screen average of $2,248.... Comparing box office takes, D’Souza’s 2012 debut film, “2016: Obama’s America,” had a wide opening of $6.5 million from 1,091 screens for a per screen average of $6,000....Four years later, D’Souza released “Hillary’s America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party,” which opened to just under $4 million from 1,217 screens and went on to gross $13 million during its run. Now, “Death of a Nation” will need to leg out with older Trump supporters to have a chance of reaching $10 million.
That average, btw, places it 19th for the weekend. :lmao

Absolutely.
Contextually there's more than enough to figure that out.
After the Lincoln freed the slaves and won the war, the KKK quickly became an anti-Republican paramilitary force. White Republicans were among their first victims.
With the end of Republican hegemony at the end of Reconstruction came the return of the Democratic party and the institution of Jim Crow, with the KKK continuing to serve as irregular justice.

The Dems ran the antithesis of their platform and lost. I was mocking the hypocrisy of the "holier than thou" platitudes shown by the Democrat supporters because they voted for a Republican disguised as a Democrat while mocking the whole "we switched rhetoric so we inherit what the Republican party accomplished before we switched sides". Admittedly, more of a troll post because the word "Dixiecrat" was mentioned. I took my shot and it resonated. I still stand by Hillary being a racist and an affectionate fan of a KKK Grand Wizard and I laugh at the people who voted for her because she was a fraud the way people laugh at (and they should) people like me who thought Trump would be the "every man" candidate that politics needs. Instead of being bought by lobbyists, he was probably bought by a foreign enemy.

You probably wish you were more educated. A higher percentage of house Republicans voted for the Civil Rights Act than did Democrats. In the Senate, Democrat and former KKK member and hero of Hillary Clinton, Robert Byrd fillibustered the act for 14 hours and 13 minutes. You are trying to give some sanitized "party realignment" when the truth is that racist Democrats didn't all just jump ship.I don't think so. There's nothing sanitized about saying that party realignment started happening after the Voting Rights Act and the Civil Rights Act of 1965. That is when it started.
No one said the shift was instant. No one said the shift made one party magically immune to racism.
Over time, southern Democrats became Republicans and solid Democratic states became solidly Republican.
In Texas this really didn't start happening until the 1980s, but shrewd political operators saw the writing on the wall well beforehand.

Well it's hard to just narrow it down to one thing. I'd have to say the obvious historical accuracy and superb acting are the first things that jump out from the preview. You just don't see that type of combination from Hollywood anymore. I was also impressed that D'Souza correctly recognizes DJT is as transformative a POTUS as Lincoln, although I was a little disappointed he did not also note the similarities of DJT and Jesus. So while it does have some faults I think that getting out the truth like this will help Trump in his quest to get 90% of the black vote in 2020.
:lol
ElNono
08-06-2018, 01:35 AM
Absolutely.
Contextually there's more than enough to figure that out.
After the Lincoln freed the slaves and won the war, the KKK quickly became an anti-Republican paramilitary force. White Republicans were among their first victims.
With the end of Republican hegemony at the end of Reconstruction came the return of the Democratic party and the institution of Jim Crow, with the KKK continuing to serve as irregular justice.
but it wasn't like it was a bunch of Democratic pols who founded it: it was a bunch of red-assed Confederate veterans and Nathan Bedford Forrest.
it's a well known historical fact that Woodrow Wilson was a white supremacist and arranged a viewing of "Birth of a Nation" in the White House.
also that Robert Byrd joined the KKK as a teenager. he says it was because he was jejune and a social climber: it's just what you did if you wanted to get ahead in West Virginia in the 1930s, according to Mr. Byrd.
I bet a solid 1/2 of Americans can tell you that Strom Thurmond was a Dixiecrat and what it means to be a Dixiecrat; we're not talking about hermetic secrets here, but ordinary US history.
It cracks me up that y'all think we're hearing it for the very first time from Dinesh D'Souza.
face it: white supremacy is not some hoary old 19th century relic, but has been mainstream and socially acceptable within my lifetime -- I am about 50 years old.
Thanks for the history lesson, but anybody that looks at the South these days, and it's not eloquently disingenuous, like D'Souza is, can tell that what used to be the Southern Democrats are the Southern Republicans today.
Heck, Lincoln (much like his spiritual successor Saint Reagan, also shot at) would be considered today a deep-state, RINO, weak leader that bent over to the blacks! Sad!

Racism is a universal term, no matter the subject. The question was clear and the answer was too. Those who believe racism exists, know it's a form of discrimination, and it's bad. Logically, it follows that either you don't believe racism exists, or you don't think it's bad (which, in practice, is the same thing). But if you had a change of heart, that's fine too. Just don't insult people's intelligence, like the D'Souza attempts to do. Well given that I said all along that I don't think that it's not a fun subject matter for a debate, I cannot say I'm all that inclined to argue.
But to give a brief rebuttal all the same, it was white Republicans who went to war to free the blacks. Sure, many of them were "racist" by today's standards.
