Its astonishing to me how the fanboy pgdarn cant see how diminished Son and Ericksen are with kane upfront. Son cant even move forward around the box line that often, and with kane out, ericksen had way more to operate.
They have enough talent upfront. They cant just give kane all the space.

Fckn Hazard...
Chelsea has no real idea how to use him and he scores at the very end.
Raul Jimenez is gonna get poached by a big club. If he wants to play, he better be needed and told exactly where he will fit in. If he does not mind sitting for $, f him. Kid is very good. Higuain now displaying lack of work on the defensive side, the coach of Wolves benches players for that lack of work.
Wolves are dangerous for top 6. But against inferiors, they have some real trouble at this time of year.
Gotta root for loses by other teams since the Tottenham funk is in full swing.

Wolves, Spurs and Leicester are at home though. Liverpool may have an easier schedule but we're talking about a team that tied West Ham, had a scoreless draw vs Everton and needed divine intervention to beat Fulham. Nothing is coming easy for Liverpool, not even the gimme's.

I agree, I mean Liverpool has been VERY lucky this season.
But you guys are also still in the FA Cup and the schedule is still much harder than Liverpool's.
I love Pep, and City play beautiful football. You'd think Liverpool's luck would run out at sometime. Neither team has any margin for error.

Liverpool luck in the the last 3 months has been outrageous. It is really at a historical level.. Almost like the Soccer Gods want to repay them for that Gerrard slip.
City should be disgusted they aren't 7 points clear with the title sewn up already
This is going to be one of the instances when the clearly better team (City) fails to win the title. It happens sometimes in Cup competitions, but rarely does in a 38-match league race.

Im all in.
Makes it fun if there is actual competition for something.
Relegation battle, top 4 battle, title battle. This is what makes the game so much more interesting compared to football, basketball, baseball, hockey...
I remember reading posts where people tried to defend "poverty" ball against other American sports.
Imo the above makes soccer a much more compelling sport. Add to that the outcome (score) very often does not tell the story of the actual game making it necessary to watch (apoplectic take note). It's easy to tell if people have not actually watched or are so biased they can't see straight. Or both (apoplectic)
One down
Aresnal takes a loss.
Totten ham played much better against Liverpool and CP so we still got a shot.
Its a great thing we get to play Manchester City only 3 times in the next month.
Maybe a pox visits the entire 1st team and we play thrilling games against their juniors.

@apalisoc_9 has been beating on this drum for a while now: Tottenham look so such more fluid playing without Kane. The sample size has gotten big enough that rubbishing such opinion would be silly.
Kane is not a transcendent striker; he is slightly better than replacement level. He might match Thierry Henry goals haul, but he will never have his impact on the game.
Spurs should probably try to sell high on him this summer given his injury-proneness..

Kane is a good player but is massively overrated and worse has the privilage of a ronaldo, messi etc.
Even Guys like Hazard, Salah, sterling, KDB etc all have to play a specific way. Hazard has had to play out of position for so many games, Salah playing as a 9 etc.
Kane is given even more priviliage in the field than these guys. Thats a big problem because unless he is messi it ruins overall team potential.
But its the English media.

Wow Tottenham looked amazing without Harry Kan’t
With over half their starting lineup gone, and with the incredibly immobile Llorente, taking Kanes place.
Eriksen, Sissoko, and Vertonghen were the ONLY regulars on the field. And with Eriksen making an uncharacteristic amount of mistakes.
It’s amazing how people can make these statements without even watching the games.
Spurs had been very good with Kane and Son/Mora/ Ali for 3 games BEFORE the Huddersfield massacre.
The only really legit argument for sitting him when healthy is his ankles will never be the same.
It has clearly affected his speed. His passing, placement, use of his body, and ability to pull defenders away has improved enormously from his early years of constant goal scoring.
But I get the trolling when people go out on a limb to root for MC, RM or Barca. And then deflect to the ever present Messi/Ronaldo overreacting when their lavishly financed teams don’t look so good.
Blaming Lloris or replacing him is a more legit and by far more significant argument.

This is your first problem.
Thinking the poster knows the team.
Transcendent striker? He never was? He is the best striker on Tottenham and they eventually suffer with him gone. Luckily they only have a tough MC team on the rest of the EPL schedule. So 3 or 4 is possible without him.
Sample size... How do you get a sample size without watching the games and declaring fluidity? That’s just silly.
He measures fluidity by Son goals. So yeah... If the sample size included the last 3 games (before Huddersfield) you would say keep Kane and Son together.
The astute Apo looks at the zero-zero score at half against Crystal Palace and declares Kane a disaster and then suddenly goes quiet. Spurs owned that game and were very fluid the entire game just like the 2nd half of Liverpool.
You guys are lucky I keep you in line by actually knowing a team and a player. There would never even be a Tottenham discussion. I dont even get a Spurs logo:(
This ST Soccer section can be an illegitimate abortion of posts. If the Lefty's humor was gone it would be a tough read.
We need an infusion of actual fans of teams who watch games.

So Llorente gives Tottenham a more fluid game?
You are an idiot and dont watch the games.
It took an 88th minute blast from the far reaches of the universe to beat close to relegated Brighton 1-0.
You use the absolute worse games to illustrate a farcical point.
Eriksen has been way out of form WITHOUT KANE.
This is a huge boost of confidence for him and Im glad one finally went in and was not another sky ball.

City is not losing any of their next games. Maybe a Draw but even that is not enough since a draw should see them equal in points but City winning the league.

Yep..City's being out of the CL was the worst thing to happen to Liverpool's league title aspiration..Don't see them dropping points in their remaining fixtures. Meanwhile LFC got tough ones vs Newastle/Wolves.
If I'm Liverpool, I would be going all in against Barca (most likely the real CL Final) because their chances to win the EPL are no better than 30%..

Actually I just checked. I made a mistake. A draw in one of three games should give liverpool the win..but thats unlikely.
I was wondering why he kept Salah and Mane upfront but looking at their GD. If City slips ( loss) and Liverpool fails to capitalize ( draw) things go to GD.
Ill say 90f% city is winning this but if they do lose. Its gonna be this. With them losing a game and liverpool failing to capitalize by getting a draw with one of their games.

West ham played a very physical game. Beasted on a less physical side.
And out of all the games this was the one that shows why spurs must have Kane.
No physical presence in the final third until the Llorente was put on 60th minute.
The inability of Llorente to move illustrated in the 88 th min. Then Jansen can’t head the ball in after 90.
Just not good enough, respect West Ham for playing so hard. Pushed Son, Eriksen and Ali around like the slightly built players they are. Son needed to be taken out with Ali, he had nothing left... cooked.
What a strange season. Never gone this far in the champions league.

Looks like we backed into the top 4.
We got away with a horrid last part of the season. No players left after zero summer spending.
Kane injured with Llorente as a replacement is nonsense.
Now we might keep Eriksen and Alderwerield. But make no mistake, we got very old this season. The aforementioned players are now on the brink of prime and going down in long term thinking. Mature ----> old
There are at least 8 players that should be gone.
I know people on this board are horribly interested in Tottenham and concerned with every move so I wont name them.
