It was something like that, remember that bit on ESPN's NFL talk show? Berman and the gang applauding big hits..HE JACKED HIM UP....something like that.
You wanna be an instant football hero you knock their QB out of the game, break somebody in two, knock a guy out. That is football. Big hits are the game, people want to see..BOOM! They want to see a guy get up and fall back down, a helmet knocked off. Why has boxing been around forever? Look at the UFC, why is it so popular, yep....violence.
You cannot play football safely, it is impossible. A 220 pound running back with 4.4 speed won't go down easily, so what are your options? If....all worried about being safe?
In college football, the alumni will keep everything moving along. Tradition rules the college game. The NFL is going to have major problems if they continue to try and make a violent game safe, it will not work.
