XBox was great last gen with the 360, but it's garbage this generation unless you're really into driving games like Forza. PS4 vs Switch is the decision you should be considering.

:lmao gamecube... one of the most trash tier consoles of all time. caused nintendo to fall so far behind they had to resort to gimmicks like the wii to stay in the game. the DS was a better console than gamecube and thats a fuckin handheld

I see. I'm leaning towards the PS4 since I'm a huge red dead redemption fan. Probably the only game I've ever finished. :lol

N64 had what ten good games in the library? OOT and Goldeneye were amazing but they lost so many great developers by stubbornly sticking to cartridges and top IPs like Castlevania and Earthworm Jim got complete dogshit games on that console. Nintendo screwed up so badly double crossing Sony.

LOL what? The N64 was what caused them to fall so far behind. They lost all their great RPGs. LOL Final Fantasy going from a Nintendo exclusive to a Sony one because Square couldn't fit the games on those cartridges. I do agree the DS was better than the Gamecube, but how is that a slight? The DS was amazing. Those Castlevania games, the Shin Megami Teseni games, New Super Mario Bros, The World Ends With You, man the DS was fucking outstanding.

Yeah man can't wait for RDR2. You should check out the new Zelda game though, it'll give you some practice climbing shit in case the wall gets funded.

nobody nowadays has a game night and plugs in the fucking gamecube :lmao... but people still play old-ass 64 games because they aged so much better. i dont even think its particularly close. its why nintendo 64 sold 50% more units than gamecube.

yeah, NES and SNES sold a bunch when there was a lot less competition in the market and in-house gaming consoles were a novelty

Dude no way. Wind Waker has aged way better than Ocarina of Time and that 20 fps framerate. That game is rough to play twenty years later. You're going to tell me Goldeneye has aged better than Metroid Prime?

n64 was stupid with the gpu memory expansion, an d that dock that was only sold in japan...

some games u required to have that memory expension to play 4 players, like gauntlet legends

Damn that game still holds up. If you like it you should check A Link Between Worlds on the 3DS. I love the 3DS, it's cheap as fuck and super easy to install custom firmware on. Plus it can play most DS games off a microSD once you put CFW on.

I been out of it for a while; but what people tell me is PS4 for the hardcore gamers and X-Box for ease of use (online). Also, I'm hearing that the new Zelda is the best yet if you want to wild card it.

i remember playing goldeneye64, couldnt play it cause kept on getting dizzyness...then tried counterstrike at the lan cafe couldnt handle it also...

goldeneye is best played with goldengun...1shot kill...

I think the biggest issue with Goldeneye 64 today is that crappy single stick FPS control scheme.. It's garbage holding R to allow you to aim.. I believe you can map the game's controls to use the modern dual stick setup via emulation though.. I tolerate the graphics and everything else just for the nostalgia though.

GameCube had a variety of games that were different and fun.

Nintendo also went bold with it adding some serious adult oriented games for it like Time Splitter, Resident Evil, Eternal Darkness etc.

The Nintendo 64 has nostalgia going for it. You remember games like Mario 64, Mario Kart and Goldeneye with distinction just because we were all just kids and those are dear and old memories but c'mon people. In terms of games and graphical improvements, the GC was far and away the better of the 2.

You can actually go back to the Gamecube and play some games and be pleased with how they look. As oposed to the Nintendo 64 which would be a pain to go back to playing and actually having a good time, I would imagine.

Nostalgia isn't a factor unless you're looking back.. my views on the N64's greatness are based on what I thought about it at the time. By the time the Gamecube came out PS2 (and Dreamcast too although new games and the system itself were already cancelled) was already going strong and a game like Luigi's Mansion was not enough to warrant getting a second console IMO.
