Once it became part of the European Union, it has steadily increased it's levels of both political and ethnic tolerance. That's what the actual social studies on the country say that's been happening in the past couple of decades.

Even the Polish government has tackled racism head on (look up: Krajowy Program Przeciwdziałania Dyskryminacji Rasowej, Ksenofobii i Związanej z Nimi Nietolerancji). Much like the rest of the civilized world.

Questions like "do you feel safe?" are the prototypical appeal to emotions question, integral to demagoguery. That's what the actual social studies on the country say that's been happening in the past couple of decades.
