Spurs at 49.9 (might as well call it 50)wins and 4th. This was of course before Manu retired but is one of most optimistic projections out there and based on simulations.

"Thus, it's a perfect time to take a very early look at next season. Thanks to SportsLine data scientist Stephen Oh, we can run the simulations and project how things will go. Of course, these are just projections, and plenty of things will change over the next year or so. Still, it's an interesting bit of info to consider."

"One final thing to take note of is the sim still believes in the Spurs. Swapping Kawhi Leonard for DeMar DeRozan is going to hurt their record (-5.9 wins), but they're still projected to get the No. 4 overall seed in a very strong conference."

No bias, this is a much more realistic projection. I’m sorry, but I really can’t see the Pelicans, Nuggets, and Blazers being better (ESPN). Maybe I’m wrong, but replacing the basically net-neutral Kawhi contribution to the year with DeMar DeRozan will be a huge benefit to contention. Probably not beating GS or Houston barring an injury but I think this team will be much better than the sources salivating over a possible downfall predict.

My business partner is in Vegas this weekend and the line on wins this year was 46 earlier today. Gotta take the over.

That projection has the Bulls at 20 and the Clips at 21. Makes me very glad the Spurs are still playoff bound. I would hate to suffer through a season like that.

even better.. I'm a Danny green fan, but he sucked last year, and there are arguably better regular season assets on the team who would get those minutes now, despite the huge hole at sf

Kawhi didn't even play last year so it will be an upgrade either way.

I've said Spurs lose 3-5 games with Manu leaving. It's the difference between me betting a few benjamins on the over 43.5 and just staying away from it.
