Sword & Sworcery's Switch Port Won't Support Twitter Because It's A 'Vat Of Toxic Waste'

Several eras ago—before algorithms came to dictate our every breath and Nazis re-infiltrated popular discourse via extremely uncreative and shitty memes—Twitter was alright. Now it’s a suckhole that eats negativity and barfs conflict. The developers of indie classic Sword & Sworcery don’t want anything to do with it anymore.

Earlier this week (https://kotaku.com/a-ton-of-new-indie-games-are-heading-to-switch-soon-1828656011), developer Capy announced that its cult classic side-scrolling adventure will be coming to Switch in October. The original iOS version allowed users to instantly tweet any of the game’s dialog prompts, but the Switch version won’t include that feature. All of Sworcery’s dialog is 140 characters or less for easy tweeting, but now that Twitter upped the character limit to 280 so that conspiracy theorists could cram even more wackadoo nonsense into messages that eventually filter up to the President of the United States, things aren’t super great. Thus, the feature removal.

“Twitter support has been cut from the Sworcery Switch Edition,” said creative director Kris Piotrowski, somewhat ironically, on Twitter (https://twitter.com/krispiotrowski/status/1034510149405364227). “The reason for this is simple: When we first launched Sworcery many moons ago, Twitter was fun & nice & cool. Now, in the year 2018, Twitter is a vat of toxic waste and we want nothing to do with it.”

Yup. A simple communication tool never should've been politicized.

Twitter has to atone for allowing Trump to win the presidency.

Twitter has to atone for allowing Trump to win the presidency.

They should pay Trump for keeping them relevant.

Small Government Enthusiast Laura Ingraham Wants The Government To Run Social Media

the conservative host pondered whether or not the government should actually just take over Twitter and Facebook (https://www.rawstory.com/2018/08/fox-news-host-laura-ingraham-suggests-government-take-facebook-twitter-like-public-utilities/) as "public utilities" in order to prevent the non-existent censoring of conservatives on social media.

Ingraham said:

"There's a thought :lol

that given the enormity of these corporations, and this is a public square today.

This is the equivalent of what we used to see in the old town square was people with a bull horn.

And so could there be a movement to treat them more like public utilities, :lol

so they have some quasi-government oversight of these entities?" :lol

So much for the free market, eh?

Weird how these people think "getting attention on social media" is a human right, but not health care.

Of course, LI means only Repug govt "regulatin" media that resists, dissents from Repug govt bullshit.

Repug / right wing hate media attacking the media they don't like is now an agreed talking point, aka, "there's a though".

"free speech" for these toxic, bad-faith assholes is "free right wing speech", like their "freedom of religion" is "freedom of Christian religion"
