Nov. has 14 games 7 home and 7 away.
Dec has 17 games 8 home & 9 away.

In Nov. after the 2nd game they go on a 5 game road trip.If the Spurs are going to contend for a 65+ game season its going to be a tough situation. In the first two months the Spurs play 15(home) & 16(road)Important road games(Mavs*,Washington,Warriors,Kings,Wolves,Pisto ns*)in the 1st 2 months.
Must win home games(Nuggets,Cavs,Rockets*,Suns*,Lakers,Heat**,Pa cers**)1st 2 months.
More than anything those are must see games on my list. If the Spurs are 25-6 in the first two months I'll be happy and surprised. If they have a better record than that they will win more than 62 games in the season.

Spurs have three long straight trips on the road: Nov.(5 games),Feb(7 games!) and March(5 games).

There's only two months where the Spurs can make up. January- 14 games with 9 home and April 7 home & 3 on the road.

I'll find these fun but it won't worry me. I rather see a tough schedule.

It's time to be concerned if both Finley and NVE do not grasp Spurs basketball. Of the two, Finley is the one who would be more likely to be a problem.

If Finley 'gets it' then the league might as well give the Spurs the Larry O'Brien in December.

I don't panic when it comes to the spurs, but most people I know are upset that they've only won a single game. The average fan can't understand that this preseason is different than others because we have at least 3 new players that are going to get significant playing minutes, so we have to let them work through the system during pre-season. My question is when do we, the rational fans, start to worry?

I was pretty drunk, pretty calm and nervous sitting with some friends. When you know what your team is capable of, you don't really lose your cool til it's over. And when it was over, I did.

I didn't know it was so easy to be cool. This is a first. So someone tell me what else to do to be cool like this.

Even Pop said at the Kick-off Luncheon that the Spurs aren't any good. I don't have the exact quote but it was something like:

Folks, we are going to lose some games at the start of the season. If you have followed the Spurs for very long, you know this is the case. We always start out 7-7 or 10-9 every year no matter the talent level.

Do not panic. It is going to take some time for the team to gel and find their rhythm for this season. I know a lot of you are hoping for a 65-70 win season, but it is just not going to happen. Pop will focus more on finding good rotations and keeping key players rested at the beginning of the season.

Around January, we will find our groove and start putting together some nice winning streaks.

Please do not panic when we drop some early games to Denver, Dallas, etc. This is to be expected with the way the Spurs always begin seasons.

Are you KIDDING? We only got half a bench, shrimps like Parker are getting to the rim on our vaunted frontline almost at WILL, our legendary domination of the boards is down to a statistical TIE (41.4 RPG for Pistons AND for opponents, and that's AFTER the xmas game), we're giving up over 90 points per game....

Okay, maybe some of us fans are panicking, but I guess the Pistons themselves aren't.

Panic? No.

Resignation that this season may be slipping away on Tim's bad heel, yes.

If Tim can't achor the help defense, alter/block shots, get RBs, then the defense is very mediocre. No Tim, no defense, no Spurs.

If you give any team that big an edge in rebounds, you are going to lose. Both games demonstrated our rebounding problem.

Perhaps Tim's injury makes him less mobile and Nazr hasn't been getting as many minutes as late last year, but we've lost rebounding for sure with this current rotation and squad.

Right now, Detroit is simply better than we are. If we don't improve we will not win the title this year.

Oh, Gee!!

"detroit only scored 83 points."

Enough to blow out the Spurs' risible 68.

It was that pace of game, walk it across mid-court, and half-court at both ends.

They outshot the Spurs 44% to 38%,
they took 14 more shots,
they got 16 ORB vs 4 ORB.

The Spurs got beat thoroughly, on both ends, like they were the worst team in the NBA. Last night, they were.

Well said boutons. Rember Spurs fans all good things must come to an end eventually.

The good news is that you guys have the ability to get better before the playoffs, the bad news is that the Pistons are out for blood and they will only continue to get better as well.

Tim Duncan's injured/ineffectiveness ='s the Spurs demise.

Still a little early for the obituary. Pistons are only one key injury from being in the same boat. It is a long season. Hard for me to imagine the Pistons getting better. We shall see. The Pistons sure look unbeatable now.

and frankly anything less than a championship is an absolute bust for us

at this rate we may not even win our own division let alone the nba finals!! and for all the folks who knock on dallas, granted they are a shitty playoff team and love to choke when it matters, during the season they mostly do take care of business and blow out teams they're supposed to, while the chances of the spurs beating anyone seems to diminish by the week. we only seem to get worse and worse. after a bright spot in the miami win, we've come back to shitty uninspired basketball

That's a little extreme, don't you think? :spin I mean, we're no Detroit, that's for sure, but we're not headed for certain doom either. The truth lies somewhere in the middle.

Yeah, the Denver game was not fun, but the game against Miami was the best one we've played all year, imo. One where the Spurs showed some glimpses of the championship team they were in the finals. Pop is through with his laid back, "I just want them to go out there and play the best they can" routine, and is back to his old Serbian ways. :elephant And the role players are starting to show more integration, Tony is having a career year, and Manu is playing great when he's not injured. It's just hard when your two best players have nagging injuries and aren't able to consistently play at the top of their game.

Repeating is tough but not nearly as rare as you say

every single team had repeated since the 1984 championship except for......Ding Ding Ding! THE SPURS! no surprise there. Detroit was the only the other team since 1984 to not repeat. so repeating is not easy, but all this "dynasty" crap talk looks incredibly premature considering we havent defended our championship even once, and this year doesn't look to be the exception
