What’s our record after 10 games? I say Spurs start 0-3 end up 6-4.

I think we will trade blows with the Lakers and the only other team that may steal one is New Orleans.

I think 8-2 is possible but will end up 7-3 because you know one of the crappy teams we should beat will somehow beat us. Spurs have a bad habit of losing to sub .500 teams in the regular season...

I could see a 35 win team if LMA gets hurt. I could also see a 58-60 win team *(IF)* the team gels and plays with a chip the way I think they will based on the random comments from practically everyone I've seen. Gay, Gasol, DJ, DDR, etc.

I think they have something to prove. I think Pop and the coaching staff have some extra motivation.

My gut says this will be at least a 50-win team. Maybe a 4 seed. Maybe even a 2 or a 3 seed if everything lines up and the Rockets falter a bit.

Or, on the opposite end of spectrum, if LMA goes down, an 11 seed and miss the playoffs for first time in 22 years.

I expect big things from White this year. He will be the difference between a mid to high 40s win team and the high 50s, imo.

I started to say 6-4, but I'm feeling like we come out strong and go, at least 7-3. Most of all, I can't wait for this season. All that bullshit from last year was really a drag, although Manu, LMA, and few other moments were a silver lining. This will be a scrappy team I'm thinking, with some skills.

I'm with you, man. This is the biggest reset that the Spurs have had in 20+ years. Most teams would spend 10 years just to rebuild and form a squad like the one we have. In the length of 3 seasons...we have moved on from the Big 3 glory days, and still have a solid squad with some talented prospects moving forward.

Is it perfect? No.

Will we win the championship? Probably not.

But we have a talented team which should be competitive, and will be definitely interesting to watch.

Frankly...the Warriors are still the favorites by far, so if we have to wait it out a couple years....at least this will make it worth our while.

He’ll be lucky to get 10 minutes a game. I think DJ, Patty, Derozen, Marco get the bulk of the guard minutes.

10-0. Spurs will come out swinging. Everybody has a chip on his shoulder for whatever reason, Demar, Gay, DJ, Pops, LMA, the whole Spurs organization. A lot of stakes to show that Spurs made the right moves. And the Spurs fans will not be disappointed. I truly don’t know what to expect. DJ really needs to improved this summer as good facilitator, controlling the pace, defensive tempo. Demar, LMA can score. DJ needs to distrupt the opposing PG, starts with D and let Demar facilitate the PNR, LMA on the low post, just ready to sink the 3. It will be fun...

I agree if they are not .500 after the first 10, Spurs are in deep trouble. I assume injuries not a part of it. Many winable games. I think game 1 will be very interesting gauge. Minnesota is a tough team to predict.

I would say we get the 1 seed too, but I'm sure Pop is gonna play Bryn (can't shoot in real games) Forbes for a bit as backup 2 guard before switching to White.

Only 8 out of 50 odd posters got it right for a take accuracy of ~15%. Most homer accounts were more bullish than average and most troll accounts were bearish, who knew? .600 is in the ballpark of Pop's .688 coaching record. Keeping pace with legacy seems to be the sole goal in his twilight years.

6-4 with no wins against teams with a above .500 record isn't impressive at all tbh, just means the schedule to date has been weak. this team will struggle to finish above .500

I'd say my assessment was pretty spot on, and this was before we knew we'd be without Murray, White, and Walker to this point.

Well...maybe not the 50 wins part.

Frankly with taking those things into consideration, 6-4 doesn't seem all that bad. It's still good enough for 4th in the "competitive West" so far.

negative SRS. Yikes. This team was a freaking contender 15 months ago.

(the trio of Murray,Green,Kyle was probably the best 1-2-3/4 defensive trio in the league last year).
They were at least giving me Grizzlies-vibes last season, you were happy to cheer for them....cheering for sub-mediocrity on the other hand is not easy, especially for non-SA natives.

At this point the only thing I care about is Pop getting the "most wins all-time" trophy at the end of this season or the next one.

Rudy out makes us paper-thin, depth-wise. This team can compete with him and Walker back and no other injuries. Losing any of Rudy, DD, or LMA pretty guarantees this team to be 15-18th best in the league at best.
