But no one cares.

Still the greatest Spurs Guard of all time.

Spurs made the right choice of letting him go. He was the worst hornet, but man..he deserves more resepct.

He never was treated the same way ad Ginobili

What Tony get?...2 years $10 million.
The Spurs couldn't give TP9 $5mill a year?

Not better than Ginobili or Gervin IMO. Still a great player.

The official story is that the Spurs matched the offer but couldn't match the playing time so Parker chose where he would get more playing time.

I've never been less excited about an upcoming Spurs season than I am this year. I miss Tim, Tony and Manu.

Manu was better, didn't fuck a teammate's wife, get jealous of Danny hitting 3's in the Finals, and oh yeah, he didn't fuck a teammate's wife. Great, HOF, and best Spurs PG of all-time though, tbh.

The Spurs offered him the same contract but he chose the Hornets for playing time and a bigger role. Nothing more the Spurs could have done it was his choice to sign with Hornets and leave the Spurs. He still should be a member of this team imo. They played him off the bench and 9 mins, lol. Of course it was a preseason game but yikes Spurs could do the same for playing time so far. I could definitely see him wanting to come back to Spurs at some point.

Any highlight?

I doubt it he had 0 points. Maybe a nice assist or something.

I assume you mean current players?

There was a guy named Gervin, you know. I think he would be first on the guard list. Greatest point guard? Tony is that for sure.

Tony was an awesome player for SA for a long long time. This year will be a little weird to be honest.

Regardless of how everyone feels about him, it was weird to see him in that Hornets jersey.

Dude has been here since 2002. Think about all thats changed in the world since the last time he wasn't on the Spurs roster. pretty long time.

I wish he had stayed to mentor personally but don't blame him for leaving either.

Tony Parker is a 36-year-old undersized guard who cannot shoot the three in today's NBA. The only reason for him to be in the league still would be for him to be a team leader for a rebuilding / arguably competitive Spurs team (for which his legacy is based upon) instead of going to a team full of scrubs that may actually give him less minutes when they discover that he's a traffic cone.

“The Spurs will always be home. San Antonio will always be a big part of my life. At the end, I just felt like the Hornets wanted me more.”

Cap Jax opined that he was doing that at the behest of Pop (as would be the culture for something like this). But if he was speaking out of turn, then you probably have something here.

Facts tbh. Only a dozen salvadoreans on this forum think otherwise.

Parker has the better stats and individual accomplishments (and it isn't close)

Manu should be compared to Eric Gordon, not a top 5 PG of all time.

still semi surprised the hornets even wanted him. their third string PG should be getting more PT than tony... same situation as it was in sa :lol

hornets' third stringer played twice as much as tony last night. and much better too.

I'll bet all kinds financial chit goes on behind the scenes.
Not saying this is the case at all, but just a for-instance:

Like Tony is invested in a company that Jordan is also etc. Needs to keep his multi million dollar salary going as it helps the investment.
It makes more sense then some of the NBA personnel decisions.
Prime Timmy Duncan being wasted on Matty Bonner starting 5 playoff games in a 1-4 loss?
Yeah that was based on merit.

Not approving or disapproving... they're adult and do what the hell they want... But I'm not sure you realize the number of NBA players who fuck a teammate's wife, or simply people fucking a friend's BF/GF... They just don't get caught.. Millions every fucking day.

And for the record, Brent's wife fucked Tony too.

well i think a couple reasons for this...
he played while tim and manu were here, not enough love to go around. People connected much more with Tim and Manu on an emotional level due to their style of play and personalities (and in manus case, culture)

He never was treated the same way ad Ginobili

He should have known when to retire. Father Time is undefeated.

One can’t fault him the rehab he did to come back but he was already on decline when he got injured and losing even a half a step when he had already slowed down by then was disastrous.

I wish him well but I am glad he’s moved on. He’s still a HOF player and will have his jersey retired in due time. I Don’t watch the Hornets so it doesn’t bother me in the least that he’s still trying to play.

No need to retire when you can fool a team into getting 5 million a year.

True. Specially if he doesn’t mind looking washed up and out of the rotation of a mediocre team. I do wish him the best. Like I said I don’t watch the Hornets so it doesn’t bother me in the least.

damn, i called it at the beginning of last season. the dude put up 40 on 57% shooting tonight. last five games: 28.6 points, 53% from 3. it didn't make any sense for tony to be ahead of him in the rotation.

you were right. and when tony was out of the rotation is when the hornets were playing their best basketball of the season.

What a waste. One wasted year in Charlotte to taint his Spurs' legacy and then retire.

The sad part is...with Murray's injury last season, Tony would have probably gotten plenty of playing time. Maybe even more than he did with the Hornets...and the Spurs probably could've used him.

I like Forbes having a chance to develop and all, but he ain't a floor general like Tony Parker, even if we are talking about the aged version.
