View Full Version : What other teams are you rooting for this year?

Let's face it, the ceiling is probably pretty low for this Spurs team. Just making the playoffs is probably exceeding expectations. So what are the other teams that you are hoping have playoffs success?

For me, it's the bucks and the sixers. They both have Spurs coaches and interesting players (Gianni's/embiid/Simmons). They both are also in the east, so i would love to see them kick the raptors' collective assess.

Other than rooting for this trash Spurs team to make the playoffs, I'm hoping a young team like Boston and Philly can pull off something special.

When i'm not rooting for the Spurs i'm usually rooting for an underdog (basically any team but Rockets, Golden State and Lakers and now Toronto) but since Spurs ARE perceived as the underdog this year and many people have dismissed them it just makes me want to root for them even harder hoping they will prove you all wrong! I do like Dallas though, they could be fun to watch with the new additions.

If anything the Spurs should be more entertaining to watch this year than last year since we have more guys besides just LMA that can score.

I am intrigued by young teams that have new talent, or old teams that have received an infusion of youth like the Grizz with Jackson, and Mavs with Doncic. I also watch a little bit of the Magic. I will probably end up disappointed but they have a lot of young talent, with size, athleticism, and defensive potential in J.Isaac, Bamba, A.Gordon and co.

I do like Philly and Boston, but they are already well known, and I have so far just watched highlights. Same with Toronto. Greek freak is interesting.

One of the worst aspects of this season is the Spurs young talent falling to injury. Even if a team is not expected to be a contender, watching young talent is interesting. With Murray and Walker going down the Spurs stock on young talent that's intriguing went down.

I take this back. I usually don’t root for any other teams unless it’s against teams I really dislike. However, I wouldn’t mind seeing Indiana come out of the East. They’re easy to root for.

Damned straight. The 21st pick would be the third-highest the team has had since Tim was drafted. No matter what pick the Spurs earn naturally this year, having a low-20s first to go along with it would only help their development. Though I really do love that Danny had a throw-back game yesterday. Would be so good to have on the team right now if he's back into contract-year form.

Sadly Salah won’t be able to duplicate last year’s numbers but their defense is looking great.

Saw them in Naples, crazy finish

While I won't be"rooting" for another team, Denver's my team to watch this year. Watching Jokic play is an absolute delight. Along with their young wings and if porter is healthy, they've got a pretty fun team to watch.

I don't root for any other teams besides Spurs and Hornets. I root for the Hornets because they are my home team. I would just like to see some great competitive basketball being played in both conferences. We haven't seen that in the last several years since the Warriors reign began along with Lebron dominating the East. At least now the East will be more entertaining with Lebron not being there anymore. Ideally I would like to see anybody win the title besides Warriors,Raptors,Lakers.

I will root for any team that forces the NBA to call 100 fouls per game, which they won't, which allows Piston level bad boy defense to return.

Think the Grizzlies will take that bet. They will all foul out. Their rook JJJ has been fouling out in less than 20 minutes and their entire roster gets in foul trouble in preseason. I think it's a common problem with the new rules, but Grizz are really fouling a ton.

From what I heard, teammates were saying his shoulder wasn't still 100% and he was still a bit suffering... Kind of stuff that can bother you a long time, but true last numbers were insane

That group should be crazy till the end.. And to add some drama, heard today there are suspisions of frauds on PSG-Belgrade and guys from Belgrade who would have put 5 millions on betting sites on PSG by 5 goals. PSG won... 6-1.

I probably will root for the Raps to do well if it means that Kawhi will remain in the east next summer. Seeing him join Team Lebron would break my heart. Of course, with KL’s camp, they could sweep the Finals and he still might bolt for LA.
