View Full Version : Well, I've applied for a couple of new jobs.

It's a first for me to be this quick about acting on a decision and not fretful or obsessive over it.

One position is on the same campus, doing basically what I do now on a slightly larger scale for way more pay. Their job description read like my resume, so that's a plus. Also a plus is that my boss has connections in that dept. and is nosing around to get the inside scoop. A negative is that the job has been posted for a long time, so there is a good chance they are ready to fill it. Oh well, couldn't hurt to apply, and if it came through, it would give me the opportunity to find out if I like the work I'm doing and if I want to continue in this vein apart from the job I currently hold (which has a lot of personal crap wrapped up in it).

I also applied for something that is rather off the wall, but fits in the skill set I possess. I don't really know if it's something I want to do, and the job description leads me to believe that the pay may be too low, but I figured it couldn't hurt to apply and see if anything comes of it.

So I'm on my way and making steps. I'm also feeling out contacts to see if anything is open and looking around and doing some soul searching to see what kind of job I really want . . .

I thank you for your support of me last week. :spin

If you're not happy with a job and you are a 17 year old HS student should you quit?

If you're not happy with a job and you are a 17 year old HS student should you quit?Let me ask it another way: how many people are doing the same job now they were when they were a 17-year old HS student?

Seriously, yes, unless you really need the money right now and don't think you can land a new job soon enough to cover yourself financially.

It's just money for a car and college tuition. Mostly all of it goes in the bank except every summer I get 200 for clothes. So far I've saved only 4000. And I don't plan on sticking on this job, even my supervisor tells me once you're in college quit the job and start looking where you can make more money.

Because seriously, being the photo guy is so f'ing boring.

So you have a job you don't like that doesn't pay well. Look for something that either pays better or that you like better.

90% of jobs in high school are mostly about learning what it means to be in the workforce than the actual job (or money) itself, especially if you're planning on college.

I don't know if this is good pay or not, but I get $220 every two weeks and I only work 2 days a week, but I guess I'm gonna have to stick with this I have nothing else to do and it's better than spacing out at home.
