An ironic twist to the end of the Kobe case.

Rachel Yandle, the girl on the left is a friend of Kate's and was on Court TV defending her when the story just dropped last year. This article is from July of last year.

YANDLE: Well, I don’t like what they’re doing, like judging people or judging her just because she’s not a star. And knowing her, I don’t think she would make this up.

Now, this same chick is the first to take a picture with Kobe as he's leaving town after finding out he's free.

The shot was snapped with Rachel Yandle, who ran into Kobe at the private airport. "I just went up to him and asked for a picture," Yandle told us.

Yandle tells "CJ" that Kobe appeared very excited that the criminal case was over. "People were just congratulating him. He was just saying ‘Thank you,’ and signing basketballs," Yandle recounted. "He was really excited; he was happy to be there and to be leaving, I guess. To be heading home."

This isn't true... Kobe was in Newport Coast at home when he heard that the case had been dropped. He left shortly after noon... check the LA Times for the article

Tawnia - actually, he knew about the deal before he left Co. And as the pic in this article shows, that outfit is exactly what he had on.

Not long after questioning showed that many prospective jurors believed Bryant was innocent, negotiations to end the case began. They revolved around what Bryant's apology to the accuser would say and what its implications would be for the criminal and civil cases against Bryant.

You can read the details here. He knew the charges would be dropped. BTW - 85% of the potential jurors said they believed Kobe was innocent.

is it not nice that everyone heard about the case before they trial so people actually would be fair and not make up their mind before going to the trial

2 Cleva: You said that girl was Rachel Yandle, and that she's a friend of Kate's. Who is Kate? Is that the name of Kobe's accuser??

1Parker1 - Yeah, Kate Faber is her name. Its funny that they were worried all about her name being released but anyone who wanted to know could find out in 5 minutes on a google search as soon as Kobe was charged.

Ok, maybe my timeline is screwed up here, but I thought the prosecution hadn't filed to dismiss until around 2:00, so how did everyone know that the case was dismissed when he left around noon??
