Has there been a better debut from a Spur beyond Demar Derozan this season? Scored last six points...hit a tough big shot over Jimmy Butler...knocking down two clutch free throws to seal the win.

I assume the big 3 were pretty pedestrian in their debut coming in as rookies. Don’t remember LMA’s debut.

David had 23 and 17 with 3 blocks to lead the Spurs over the Lakers for the first time in forever in his first game. Easily the most exciting regular season game I have ever been to.

DeRozan impressed me, he was torching Butler, tho it probably helped that dumbass Thibbs had Rose guarding him alot. :lol

It was refreshing to see an established player come here and perform and even exceed expectations for once. Usually they get mind fucked by the system and it alters their game for a year or two.

There was no doubt this kid could score...but I still really liked his poise in the first game. He looked like a different beast than he did in the preseason, and that's what the Spurs need.

It took Kawhi like 3 seasons to get 30 in a game, and Demar nearly did it in his first game as a Spur. Obviously, he is not the defensive player that Kawhi is, but he can definitely put up numbers on the other end.

Willie Anderson had the highest scoring debut in Spurs history with 30.

DeRozan is now number two with 28.

That's when Pop was trying to get them all to buy into his System. Now he just lets them play. He's changed since the Aldridge Trade Demand debacle.

Duncan has 15 pts, 10 rebounds, 2 blocks. Not sure if that is better.

I assume that very few people here now Have seen David play much less his first game back in the 80s. They really have no idea how dominant David was. People calling DeMar the best offensive Spur of all time make me laugh. I love DeMar, but there's some pretty good players in Spurs history who did it on both ends.

He does have a little Iceman style to his game, though. Both good and bad.

Don't come around here with all your logic, we are propping DeMar and dogging Kawhi over here!

Demar embraces his role and it shows. Only good things will come out from it. His jersey will be up there with the Spurs greatest when it’s all done. And Kawhitter would have played his 8th team and people thinking what could’ve been.

There is some truth in your trolling. Spurs got two years to get Demar on board. He didn’t sign here, didn’t ask to be traded here, never voiced a desire to be a Spur before the trade. If he leaves then the Spurs will probably have to do a true rebuild.
