I'm so proud of my daughter..I asked her if she knew who Rosa Parks and she knew her important to America she was and when I asked her, "what did her actions mean?"...she said, "that one person can make a difference."

Very proud indeed.

Rosa Parks is truly an iconic figure in American history.

She was a woman of immeasurable, uncommon, and much needed courage.

She said she didn't want to get up because her feet hurt!! :)

The country was primed for the civil rights movement,
the leaders such as MLK were in place,
there were LIBERAL whites, lawyers, judges, who still believed in USA ideals,
and the post-war economy was making white America rich,
(it's easier to feel generous and righteous when you're not feeling pain)

Rosa's bitchin feet were the catalyst. But not every owner of those feet would have stood up as strongly as Rosa did.

That's great. Love your post. One person can make a difference. i just hope that more and more ppl see when one person is trying to make a diffrence to offer support.

People are resistant to change... Sometimes you have to stand up (or sit down) and say, "This is stupid."
