lol nobody plays defense anymore
they might need to expand the 3pt line... since it looks like everyone can hit a 3 2ft behind the 3pt line
and wher the team logo is at half court, might as well put a star there for 4pts like in nba jam
91 :lol

Klay is chucking now :lol
Kerr is going to yank his ass to avoid looking like they are ass grabbing.

Klay with 52pts with 14 3s only in 3 quarters
52 points 14 3s in two and a half quarters :lol
It's really too bad KD ruined the legacy of the splash bros
I know when the Bulls call a timeout because Klay's 3s stop incrementing for a few seconds.

The NBA is a joke. And like I said in the Spurs forum, NBA basketball isn't a real sport. Contrived rules to do anything and everything to increase pace and scoring when it wasn't needed, insipid marketing to the lowest common denominator ("Hey Skeeeeeeep, what Lebron's latest tweet about?"), and too superstar centric. I'm only very casually following to shit on Lakers fans when Lebron "leads them" to a 44-38 record, missing the playoffs, and to shit on Lonzo Ball. Silver and Stern sold out to casual fans.

If they play like this every night no one is beating them, heck no one is probably beating them this season anyway.
Anyway it used to be fun when 3's went in but the game has changed so much that the Warriors are beating teams with 3 point shots like tonight. When players can hit 3's like this it's no longer fun, it's annoying.
Might have to move back the 3 point line.

Today's NBA = ping pong
When scoring is so easy why watch anything beyond the final 3 minutes?
It would be fun if it was my team doing it. I can see why it's not fun if it's being done to you. However, Chillen, your peeps gave Klay a loud ovation. They must have enjoyed the fucking he was giving them.

Oh, gotcha. Because historically "everyone makes a run" and the final 5 or so minutes is when players get serious on defense
Ultimately is Green a quality defender or did the Warriors just load up on unselfish scorers (not including Durant)

Yeah the fans know the Bulls are rebuilding and not in the process of trying to win an NBA title for now. Still I wouldn't cheer that if I was at the game, even if the Bulls aren't contenders I would still want them to compete. Just god awful defense last night played by the Bulls to give up almost 150 points against such a well oiled machine that is the Warriors.

Virtually all sports change the rules to ensure more scoring, would you like to see MLB go back to the dead ball era?

Sure, but the NBA took it way too far with the new "freedom of movement" rules this year. We were already seeing plenty of high-powered offenses and scoring before these rules. There was no need to restrict defense even further.

Craig Ehlo would average 35 ppg in t: lolday's NBA
From 1994 to 1995 the league average pace dropped from 95 to 92 and hovered around 90 until '13-'14, where it's been gradually increasing[97.3 last year, 100 this year(last reached '88/89)]. This being caused by the highly controversial increase in 3 point attempts, going from 24% of total FGA in '13/14 to 33% in '17/18. However, teams aren't shooting any better from three(35%), than they were in 14'/15 or the past decade or two.
The league is playing at a higher pace, but unlike the 80s, it's not because the defense is absolute shit. Throughout the entire 80s, the league wide FG percentage was 49%(!!!), with a pace of around 100~. Compared to now where the league wide average is 45%, which is the average since forever.
Also for all the whining about FTs and flopping, FT/FGA are down from consistently being in the 24% range the last three decades to being 20% this decade.

It all fits together. More threes means less driving and fewer FTs.
Maintaining a 45% FG rate while increasing the number of threes attempted leads to greater offensive efficiency, and worse defensive efficiency along with it.
I don't know why the pace has suddenly jumped though. Last year the Pelicans led the league at 100.5, now the leage average is 101.6 (with the Hawks leading the way at a shocking 106.8). That's a serious spike. The 14-second offensive rebound rule is the likely culprit, but did teams really used to milk the clock that much after an offensive rebound? I thought a lot of offensive rebounds led to quick shots.
