Anyone have an idea when this will happen? Thoughts on if it will be this year? TD's was pretty quick after he retired.

At full strength, the Cavs have a better team than the 2 players Spurs:
KLove
Rodney Hood
Korver
JR Smith
Clarkson
Nance
Zizic
Sexton
Channing Frye
George Hill
Osman
Hell, Osman, their lowest skilled rotation player, would likely be a starter over any of our swingmen aside from DeRozan.

Everybody should be getting a brand new Manu bobblehead of him catching the bat (on a spring). Doubt it's the team or the NBA doing the hats, probably an HEB promotion. All the best t-shirts I have gotten are usually a promo thIng for HEB and I can't find them in the Spurs store once they turn to shreds after repeated wear. I like the bobble-heads too though.

On Parker's defense,Manu was married to an actual housewife who was always there for him, waiting at home to bring him his slippers and cook him dinner.
Tony was married to a Hollywood star who only played a desperate housewife on TV.
If someone had written and directed a movie, starring Tony,a beautiful young man from Paris,France, living and working half way around the world in Texas...
Everything in his life is seemingly perfect... But..his wife is never around... He misses her... He feels alone.. And then he meets Erin..
Half of you motherfuckers would be cheering for Tony to screw Erin's brains out before the movie had even reached the halfway mark..
It's all about perspective!

Also,queue the blue font.
Weel, OK, but he was an asshole...I mean, sure SA has the ugliest fattest asses in Texas, still he could have any slavic-looking-model-like age 20something just snapping two fingers...
No need to go for a teammate's wife. If Barry was from a different breed and borough, TP would have been shot...He wouldn't even dream of going near Stephen jackson girlfriend.
In his defense, we can only argue that he is French: everybody in France cheats and has at least one mistress :D

A team is a family.
The general rule is that you don't have to hit on another man's woman cause there are more women than men on this planet so you don't have to be a dick towards another dude.
But you don't do shit like that towards a family member.
I dunno what happened afterwards,if he apologized at some point,if he understood how much of a dick move it was, those things generally get resolved behind closed doors. And if the other side of that whole clusterfuck wasn't a Hollywood star with TMZ leeches following her around it probably wouldn't have gone public.
And i know TP was just 25 at that time and you don't get every decision right at that point of your life, but i just hope now that he has passed 35 with wife and kids of his own,he gets it.

I will always appreciate what he did for the Spurs team mates, the city, and the world of basketball. Never anyone like him in bb skills or will to win in San Antonio. I was privileged to see that drive in the finals against the Heat from a seat behind the basket and was absolutely astounded at his heart and determination to go through the whole Heat team if necessary. That play broke their will and their hearts. It was over. It will be in my memories of Manu as the final statement of greatness.

You probably already have things mapped out, but I'll give my personal recommendations from growing up in SA:
Los Barrios or La Haciena de Los Barrios - both San Antonio institutions owned by the same family
Chachos or Chachos & Chalucchis - the former was another SA staple, the latter was a newer location built on steroids
Cristan's Tacos - Multiple locations, still my favorite breakfast in the world. My dad used to take me to the one off Walzem & Midcrown all the time. I've spent 10 years in Austin, and still have not found a better breakfast taco
Los Palapas - nothing outstanding, just quick and easy diner-style Tex-Mex. I still miss Los Palapas in my life
These are just my favs...I'm sure other will chime in with some suggestions. Honestly, even if you just go into some hole-in-the-wall looking place..thats where you sometimes find the best stuff.

Keep in my mind it will be late after the ceremony and the most famous 24/7 restaurant I know of is Mi Tierra's downtown. It's like going to Mexico and really fun at night. I like Rosarios for the food better, but they aren't open 24 hours and Mi Tierra's is an experience everyone visiting SA should have. People say it's 'tourist place' and it is for very good reason!
So glad you are making the game! We decided to get a great hotel for this special occasion when normally we drive home about an hour away. This is being treated like a championship celebration to my wife and I...excepted we've already !#$$ing won!

Was wondering if NBA TV was doing a Manu tribute today in lieu of his jersey retirement, such as showing today, some of the games where he was clutch. Only thing I see is the ticker showing a place on their website to go watch tributes of him by fellow Spurs alum. Just checked out the site, & they have only two posts: one is the tribute, the other is video clips of looking back at Manu's legacy as a basketball icon, uh huh, yeah, right... SMH...
Honestly, even if you just go into some hole-in-the-wall looking place..thats where you sometimes find the best stuff.Los Palapaes is disgusting. If you want good Mexican food go to Blanco Cafe or Jacala been eating at Jacala since the 70s best Mexican food in San Antonio.

"Beautiful ceremony at halftime, some tears shed as Manu's jersey hangs in the rafter. Not a dry fat eye in the crowd.
Pop, inspired by Manu's competitiveness, coaches the team to a hard-fought 2 point loss against the mighty Cavs, displaying amazing culture along the way....
[Pop after the game] - It's just a game, tonight is really about #20......
Gracias Manu :cry"
I'm pretty sure the ceremony is planned for after the game not at halftime

La Haciena de Los Barrios is wack too. It's like going to any average Mexican joint in SA but getting charged twice as much. Las Palapas needs to learn how to make a decent salsa.

It is definitely postgame.
That limited edition retirement jersey is horrid. Still bought one, it's Manu.
As with DRob my all-time favorite spurs.

My pops always preferred Las Palapas to Taco Cabana and I always liked the latter. El Chaparral was always my favorite though. And isn’t there one not a million miles from the arena?

NBA TV mentioned coverage after the game so we'll see, even though it could just be a Rockets post game show.

In the 90s Las Palapas had good Puffy Tacos one of the better ones around. Moved to California in 2000 moved back to SA 2 years ago and I've ate at 2 different Las Palapas and they both were horrible.

They'll likely will put highlights. I want to see the whole enchilada. Do we know attendance of former colleagues etc already?
