I found this surprising. Spurs players are #1 and 2 in minutes per game.

1) DeMar 38.8
2) LeMarcus 37.2
3) PJ Tucker, Lebron, Harden, Davis 36.0

Never thought that would happen. But I guess having two overtime and several close games skews it a bit in this early season.

And maybe Pop is realizing we aren't good enough at this point to rest players anymore.

Also we haven’t had a back to back all year. We’ve had a lot of rest in between game which affords pop the luxury to play them more.

These numbers are subject to change as injured players return and others get more comfortable in the system.

2 OT games, plus LMA and Derozan don’t seem to break like Kawhi

No reason to rest guys for the playoffs. Getting the best record possible in the regular season is our championship.

If anybody out there has seen the Spurs bench please call the Spurs Helpline, and report where they are.

Too early in the season to be looking at players minutes especially the Spurs played two overtime games. The season just barely started and you’re looking at resting players? Check back at the halfway mark.

Pop knows he can't throw regular season games like he has in the past, especially after we lost a shit ton of these early games last year and barely made the playoffs due to some Manu heroics. Gotta win these pattycake early games before the real road trips and heavyweights come to town.

Although LMA and DDR are quality players, the rest of the starters are not. So they have to share the burden of carrying the team. Can't afford to have either of them out for a rest for too long.

all correct but especially resting anyone. The schedule has been expanded as of last year to incorporate more rest days. Spurs schedule has been light with lots of days to rest. There will be heavier weeks in the future. I am sure he will spread the rest out better. For now, LMA, Derozan, and Gay need to get as much chemistry as possible so they can be more effective and then rest them on some blowout wins.

Sorry to break it to some of you folks, but this will be an ongoing problem. Spurs depth sucks ass, and we can't put away scrub teams with the defense that's being played by this squad. Get used to more nailbiters.

This. 10 extra minutes over six games accounts for all of LMA’s excess minutes. DDR’s will be less once White is back.

Spurs need to win to stay relative. We can’t have a superstar leave us hanging dry. If we have a chance of Demar staying we need to help him win and not be blamed for holding them back. Minutes should go down though eventually when we get White/Walker back. White should help create for Poeltl, Bertrans in the 2nd unit. And hopefully keep the lead to afford playing minutes to Metu and scrubs.

Spur lucky to play crap or injured teams to start the year. And still negative point differntial. Losing record by all star game will shock the slurpers.

2 overtime games in the young season certainly inflates the minutes, but I believe that Pop understands the situation in the West this year. Got to ride the big horses more, or face missing the playoffs.

actually was gonna make a thread about it but didn't want to rain on the parade... Every team we beat has a losing record. Every team we lost to has a winning record and should be in the playoffs.
