Spurs with another good opportunity to continue the winning streak tomorrow in Phoenix as we take on a 1-5 Suns team that have lost 4 straight by a combined 67 points. #1 overall pick Deandre Ayton has been playing well thus far early in his NBA career, averaging 17.5 pts & 10 rbs on 64% shooting. Devin Booker is their leading scorer, averaging 28 pts on 50% shooting for them early in the season, but is listed as DOUBTFUL tomorrow. This could still be a trap game for the Spurs though if they come out on the road looking like they did against Dallas. Game will be nationally televised on ESPN, hence the late start. Let's get it.

Good for the Spurs and DeRozan. He literally grew up in Toronto as a young 19 year old to a 29 year old man. He loved and embraced the city. He will receive the loudest standing ovation when he returns to Toronto. When it's all set and done, number 10 will be hanging in the rafter.

As a DeRozan stan or should I say a DeStan.. I can say with so much certainty that he will want to stay. San Antonio is a perfect fit for him by the looks of it and he is one of the most loyal players you will ever find. He will be a 31 year old free agent in two seasons and the big question will be, where are the Spurs Standing. If they are hitting a dead end and are on verge of a full rebuild, then I can see Spurs simply letting go off Derozan. If it ever comes down to whether DD wants to stay or not, I am safe to say that he will want to stay and retire as a Spur. Two years from now, LMA will be 35 and I would hope that LMA can give the Spurs a discount. He will not be an all star anymore I think, but he might still contribute in shorter minutes, simply because he can shoot the ball. I mean if a 50 year old Pau Gasol can still play then I sure as hell think that a 35 year old LMA can still contribute with his shooting.

The big question mark is can the Spurs find another star player to play next to DeRozan. I believe DeRozan will still be an all star until 34. He never had any serious injuries in the past and he takes care of his body. Plus he does have that old mans game and doesn't rely too much on his athleticism. Hopefully the Spurs can find a hidden gem in the draft as well.
