Even Davis whose playing center has made more than that.

How is this guy even in the conversation with Leonard.

I have never seen 1st round flawed player get this much recognition. Its ridiculous.

He takes most of his shots right at the rim because he makes them and opposing teams can’t stop him. This season and last season, he shoots basically 75% at the rim. Teams know he wants to get to the rim. Defenders know he isn’t going to settle for jumpers. They still don’t stop him. If they can’t stop you, keep playing the same way. Were people screaming for Shaq to expand his offensive game to include more midrange jumpers and sky hooks? No, because no one could stop him. Get teams to stop him in transition and getting to the rim to force him to have to beat them in other ways. Until then, more power to him.

Disagree..Giannis isn't a perimeter player like Kawhi, he's a big man in today's NBA, he's essentially what Shaq, Duncan, etc were back then(not in quality, obviously, but style of play relative to era)..

He's 6-11 with a 7-3 wingspan, he's today's version of an interior big, it's just a different style than what we were accustomed to seeing..

He's a James Worthy type hybrid forward who uses either his speed or length (depending on who's guarding him) to score in the paint.

If he doesn't develop his game, he'll have a short shelf life. Players will learn his tendencies or he'll get an injury that slows him down. Once that happens, if he doesn't have other tactics he'll lose a ton of effectiveness.

What's the problem? You could look at it like he can't or doesn't want to shoot, or you can read it that he is able to get to the rim at will. Giannis ain't Curry, but there is a huge difference between being Curry and Ben Simmons, who is just afraid to shoot. Everyone in this thread has the same amount of 3P's made in the NBA as Ben Simmons.

How can you stop an offensive player if the league does not let you play defense..

I thought Giannis got exposed by Al Horford last playoffs tbh.

yes he exposed giannis by holding him to 26/10/6 on 57% shooting in a series that went to game 7 in boston

He's an amazing defensive player, but just an above average offensive player. His awful assist to TO ratio since his usage has increased is the most damning aspect of his game, even more so than his lack of a jump shot.

Man thats awesome he does that. Are you kidding me with this thread?

All I see when I watch guys like Westbrook who takes tons of threes and long 2s they arent good at is how much better they would be if they attacked the rim more.

He averaged 27 ppg last year with a true shooting percentage of almost 60% lmao

This, tbh niccas get mad at bron when he misses long two's or fadeaways n crucial stretches giannis rarely settles. his game is not as well rounded as Bron, but he always attacks.

Great scorer, but turns the ball over at the rate of curry without the shooting or assists. He needs one of them to separate himself from the pack.

Don't bother. ST has a weird hate boner for Giannis. It used to be because Spurfan thought Giannis was somehow stealing attention from Kawhi - now I have no idea why he's still hated on so much.

Lol coming from the guy who has a hate boner for 99% of professional athletes

Milwaukee's strategy a good amount of the time is to have 4 guys planted on or near the three point line, leaving Giannis tons of room to take his guy one on one in the lane. It's a pretty good approach for the modern day game, especially since they have currently have nine guys on the roster shooting above 35% from three.

So he's basically Dwight Howard but more agile? Enjoy it while it lasts because when he loses his elite athleticism he will become obsolete.

He isn't an "amazing" defensive player. He's more like a DeAndre type who seems "amazing" b/c of his physical attributes/athleticism & highlight blocks.
