this is a 30 something win team unless spur luck out getting to play a bunch of tanking teams to close the season
timtonymanu
11-14-2018, 11:01 PM
Hasn't figured out that you need to stagger White and Derozan's minutes, an actual lineup tonight of Patty/Beli/Forbes/QPon/Poetl, Dante Cunningham getting Tim Duncan like minutes.....
But yeah, Spurs fans are really going to miss Pop when's hes gone :cry
He should have retired with Manu. I can understand staying post Timmy cause Nephew was still here. But the reigns need to be passed on to a hungrier coach. Expectations wouldn't be high anyway unless another Tim Duncan franchise player falls into their laps.

Good point. When you look at it that from perspective, this loss isn't that bad tbh.
Booker and Ayton (and apparently everyone else on Phoenix) are really good players.

you can't be competitive if your same players don't look like they want to win...this game was as bad as it could be, expecially coming from a loss...In see no fire in the main players and the bench looks like they have already lost hope in the team. Frankly humiliating. I wouldn't be surprised if in little time the way will be to clean the house...and tank. Anyway a team that lose at home with Orlando and by 20 points against the worst nba team can't have any hope to actually compete at the play off level...

Man a lot of drama queens out tonight it blows my mind that loosing possibly three future Hall of Fame players ie: Tony, Manu, and KY and people think we will make play offs. We are doing a soft tank just sit back and watch the young guys get better ie: White, Walker, Metu.
Hopefully we can get a top 10 pick get a starting SF and with second pick depending on who we let go or trade a PF

Lonnie is injured, Metu belongs in summer league for the next 3 years, and DWhite gets pulled for any single mistake or when Bryn says he's ready to get back into the game.
Even if Lonnie was healthy, he'd probably throw his back out when Pop makes him carry Patty and Bryn's bags to the arena.

Meanwhile, the Dubs are so bored, they're manufacturing problems with each other as their biggest obstacle to the season.

no you're thinking of Bertans
and (as some other poster has already argued) Spurs need to start running plays for Bertans, get him some open 3's, give him consistent minutes, get him some confidence.
why even sign the guy if this is how you're going to play him?

Wtf would we even want to sneak into the playoffs ? Seriously ?
Call me romantic or anything but the streak matters to me and I'll never take the tanking road. Do your best, get some PO experience to your youngsters and see what happens.
Or just give the ship to GS already and let's all go meditate in the forest.

Sigh don’t want to make any excuses but this is kinda what happens when you’ve been good for so long and haven’t had any lottery draft picks to develop in years
no, spurs had a chance to risk on guys with more potential, did not because they did not want to, this argument does not really work.

:cry other teams lost too :cry
the modus operandi of some in the spurstalk is exactly the same: compare our past (when we had one of the top 5 to play the game) with the past and present of other teams to feel better as if it really mattered.

Maybe, maybe not. Only 13 games played with injuries.
Hopefully, they'll be at full "force" (minus Dijon) and we'll see what this team is about, with an LMA who can't suck that terribly for the whole season. Dude couldn't throw it in the ocean right now.
But if your point is they'll be in the bottom, the answer is no. they'll be in the run for a PO spot all along with the other teams which for the most part aren't much more convincing now.

If recent history holds, the Spurs are going to lose 30-35 games on the road. Add to that the fact that they aren't real good at defending their home court, and this team, as currently constituted, is not competing for a playoff spot.

when we had the 4 (Kawhi, Duncan, Parker and Manu) I saw several lottery teams practically delivering games to the Spurs at the end of the games, they were afraid of us and did not really believe they could beat our team,
no team is afraid of spurs nowadays, they were defeated by the worst team in the league and had no control of the game in any moment.
I really do not care so much about the standings as the way the team plays and especially its potential for improvement. and the spurs potential for improvement is very low (relative to the league's overall level, not relative to ours since we're not playing anything at all)

That was the truth. Our bench beat their starters back then. Now its almost the opposite

There isn't a SINGLE team in the league that the Spurs could play that would make you say "Easy win for SA". Not ONE

I told you idiots that Dr. Popovich should have known better than to presume this team was a virtual lock to beat anyone, particularly on the road.
As an aside, I wonder how long until Gay and others, who want to play and know this team needs all the help it can get, grow tired of his shtick and have their frustration boil over.

Thought I was too busy to stop in and gloat.
This thanksgiving I’m grateful for some time off to say thanks for the 3rd win and the smile brought to my face seeing it was a asswhooping!
And hey, tonight we got win 4 two weeks later!
Shit, we suck awful.
Sucks to lose to us by 20!
