1. Gary Neal
2. Vinny Del Negro
3. Patty Mills
4. Steve Novak
5. Chuck Person
6. Matt Bonner
7. Bryn Forbes
8. Jack Haley
9. Marco Bellinelli
10. Davis Bertans

Who would you pick from these? Others? I say Neal but Mills and Forbes aren't that far behind, tbh.

Bonner was a decent defender. On today's team, he'd look like Ben Wallace, tbh.

Mills has never been a better defender than Parker, tbh.

Bonner held his own against the Gasol/Zbo frontcourt in 2013. I think he was alright defensively like timvp said.

I can’t remember if Money Mase was really bad on defense but he was hated here during his time on the Spurs.

mills use to put his body on the line to take charges

but i think the nba refs has caught his bullshit like how fifarefs stop giving freebies to uefabarcalol with their diving and shit

like i said just because a ur midget, doesnt give u the right to lean ur head on someones arm and knock ur head backwards like u been hit by something to get a call....

yeh...mills hasnt gotten any bailout calls drawing charges for last few seasons now, is it because the spurs aint a defensive team no more or no perimeter defense? so refs wont give them that benefit of the doubt call???

All of the above. There's probably not a hair's width difference between the whole group. But, if I have to pick one it would be Patty.

People are forgetting that turnstile Matt Bonner... lmao @ people here saying he was a solid team defender when he had Duncan covering his ass left and right...

That dude single-handedly made Darrell Arthur look like an All Star, smh

Jeff Errors. Dude was a total dipshit. Matt was a traffic cone but he at least slowed the break on defense by being slow in transition.

Some here think Spurs history is ~1999

Parker wasn't that a bad a defender when he was younger, tbh. In the latter stage of his career, definitely an atrocious defender, though.

Anyone saying matt bonner getting raped by that grizz front court as decent is straight retarded. He was good at standing upright and keeping his hands straight up in the air though.

i dont think dominique wilkins played any d when he was here and danny ferry was pretty awful

After Person took his bumpy flight and put on all that weight I don't remember him being that bad in the post against PFs. The big ass kind of helped.

vs Grizz that yr came to mind. Bonner a very underrated tough defender. Ask z-bo. Didn’t he cause problems for Obama a few times? Always underestimated.

He was an average to slightly above average defender in his prime.

Forbes outdoes himself considering his physical tools he has to work with. In a somewhat short sample size, I’d say Novak was the absolute worst. He had 0 basketball skills outside of a 3 point shot. Bonner played some decent D against Howard that one round :lol

Has any player ever been as feeble as Bertans, so if they just got bumped hard they fell down (not flopping)?
