That’s true. I almost think of him as an SF sometimes, for some reason, though, tbh. Well, he mostly played SF in Toronto, tbh.

I'm glad that Tony isn't as washed up as he seemed to be but people are starting to overrate his contributions this season, tbh.

Tony: 9.8 ppg, 4.3 apg, - 3.5 bpm, -0.1 vorp
Forbes: 13.1 ppg, 2.3 apg, -0.2 bpm, +0.2 vorp
Mills: 9.2 ppg, 2.4 apg, -0.9 bpm, +0.1 vorp

Those stats don't indicate that Tony is better than Forbes and Mills this season, tbh. Also, people bitch now about the abundance of mid range jumpers and lack of 3 pointers, imagine how much worse that would be with Tony playing instead of any Forbes or Mills.

Let Tony be happy in Charlotte where he has a role, he wouldn't have been of much help here.

Tony: 18.5mpg, 9.8ppg, 4.3apg, 17.2PER
Forbes: 28.9mpg, 13.1ppg, 2.3apg, 12.7PER
Mills: 26.2mpg, 9.2ppg, 2.3apg, 10.6PER

Wont even address the fact that you used BPM. An absolutely worthless stat that rates Fatty Mills as a superior defender to your ginger Bertans. Tony can't play more than 18 mpg at this point of his career. Again, let's enjoy that he is surpassing expectations with another team, but let's not fool ourselves thinking that we would be better with him on the roster. Another below average midget defender who, on top of that, doesn't shoot threes is the last thing we need right now.

Great take. It was time for Tony to go and he's playing relatively well for a playoff contender.

The Spurs are floundering but the bad season might be necessary to replenish the talent pool. Sucks for Pop, DeMar, LaMarcus and the other veterans but the roster and talent pool on it isn't good enough.

If they can find a 6'7" - 6'9" wing in the draft that can be our starting SF for the next 10 - 12 years, then let the losing continue.

Anyway, I hope T.P. can pace himself and continue the solid start.

Let’s look at some facts...tbh

Derozan is 6’7”. The average NBA SG is 6’4” and the average SF is 6’7”. Pray tell me what this means?

VanVleet was on the court during much of crunch time last year for the kiddy raptors.

Besides, how can a guy who is such a bad shooter be a shooting guard, tbh? It doesn’t make any sense! Think!

And look at his recruiting profile! It says small forward! Case closed! He was the top ranked SF in his class. How do you get SG out of that, tbh?!

Tony has had a resurgence this year. I'm thrilled for him. I still hope he retires a Spur. I think the Big 3 all should. Even if it's his 21st year and he's just in Spurs uniform as a mentor, the Spurs need to make it happen. What's ironic is that he joined the Hornets so he could have a larger role on the court, but the Spurs injuries would have allowed him to play as much as he wanted to this year.

I mean, watching Parker play, you clearly see what HOF player is. So much smarter than almost everybody else on the court. We'll definitely miss him.

Yes, we may miss him for a decade depending on how Murray pans out. But in saying that his time with Spurs as a backup of starting point was over. I'm over the moon that I was able to watch him his whole career minus his rookie year.

Don't look now.. hornets is kicking knicks' ass

Knicks 126, Hornets 124. I guess the Knicks won’t mind that kind of ass-kicking.

Parker shot 1/5. Ntilikina was no bench scrub after all.

His presence on the court is greatly missed this year on the Spurs. Glad to see him doing well though. Best guard in Spurs history and that likely isn't changing anytime soon.
Yah I don’t see Dejonte sweeping LeBron while winning FMVP anytime soon either.

He looks much better than he had his last few years for the Spurs, especially physically..

He's probably a top 12 backup PG in the NBA right now, which is pretty good for his age and mileage..

Had a 17 point 4th quarter tonight...

If only we had a closer against the Nuggets, a team he went off for 19 earlier this month..

He's come back really strong from his injury...I'm super happy for him. It's awesome to get to watch him play great; the last of the Big 3 that we can still watch play on a nightly basis. The silver lining to him and Manu being gone, though, is that it's forced some of the other guys to develop, like White and Bertans. The Spurs have experienced serious growing pains without our two HOF vets, but the young guys are growing and starting to step up which is pretty cool to see.

The Spurs young players can never learn how to make decisions if they are being made by either Manu or Parker. Sometimes you just have to trust the process.

Spurs failure in recent years is not trading down into the draft and not drafting SFs.

2015 have two centers that we will never use: Milutinov and Lalanne. Big FAIL.

Thread title looking pretty silly at this point, even pretending for a moment DeMar DeRozan isn't a Spur. White and even Forbes are playing consistently well and hitting important shots. Derrick's got defensive chops Tony could only dream of (but probably never did) and scoring at the bucket like vintage Tony too. Add a mostly reliable three point shot and he really ticks some boxes Parker never did. No disrespect to the Spurs' GOAT PG, but I'm not missing him at this point.

He would have been competing for the red carpet award along with Mills and Forbes for sure if he was still here.

Much love to TP though, I hope he gets a great ovation when the Hornets come to town.

This was true earlier in the year. Very true. But Forbes and White have improved tremendously. The way the chemistry it's working, I don't think Gasol has a place, much less Parker.
