Not gonna write about all the players. I'll let TJ write that. I'm just wanna share on who stood out to me.

First of all DeRozan is the truth, when he's on. Tonight he was on. His ball handling got him buckets in the paint and open shots for the rest of the team as he was the leader in assists tonight for the Spurs. He recognized he was on fire and took over.

Aldridge was being played tough and he held his own. He had a great game offensively obviously, but he played really smart tonight. Didn't force the issue. He let the game come to him for the most part. I thought he played good defense as well.

Rudy Gay is super efficient. Not the best on defense, but his offense was on point tonight.

Jakob is going to be good. I think he needs to bulk up and improve his defense, but he's smart and should be a solid player.

White was a good draft pick. He's good offensively and defensively. He created a lot of offense tonight with his penetration. He was very good tonight. He also didn't back down on defense. I was really impressed by him tonight.

Forbes was alright. Even though he bulked up it seems he's still not tough enough to handle players like Lillard. He didn't force too many shots and that was a good thing.

Mills' shot was on tonight and he did a great job of running the offense and doing what he is supposed to do, which is provide a spark off the list bench.

Pop was good tonight. Here's the one thing I noticed that stood out. He didn't have LaMarcus and Derozan on the floor at the same time as long as he usually has. Maybe I'm wrong, but it seemed to me Pop did that on purpose to help Aldridge get into a groove, but it also benefited Derozan too.

Great game overall by everyone.

Side note: Al Farouq Aminu has potential, but he's 28. Could be a fluke game and could be because he's on the last year on his current contract, but I was very impressed. He was aggressive on both ends of the court and effective. I like him. A poor man's Kawhi Leonard almost.

I noticed DeRozen and LA not playing together for some good chunks of the game. That and limiting Cunningham’s minutes were great moves by Pop.

White also gets subbed in late 1st and 3rd but stays in to finish the halves. Worked plus at 24 years old he can absorb those minutes.

Yeah I forgot to include Cunningham not playing as much as other games recently.

White finishing out the game should boost his confidence. Another good move by Pop.

That could be the solution to all of our problems; I actually liked that Pop did that. Spurs, know how to play with LA from last year, that was good enough for the playoffs, so he is fine being the focal point on offense. And DeMar is even better than LA. So it makes sense.

One the side note; which is why I wished (see my thread; if portland calls) that we trade LA for Nurkic and Aminu.

DJ Lonie DeMar Aminu and Nurkic/Poeltl/Gay would be fun to watch :)

But then again, if he signs for us in FA; DJ Lonie DeMar Aminu and LA would be pretty sweet.

Aminu impressed me tonight. Again maybe it was a fluke game, but he was aggressive on both ends and looked very good. His defense really stood out to me.

I was very impressed with the energy tonight from the get go. Semar seemed determined to put the win on his shoulder and he was aggressive. Lamar did not backdown and attacked the rims. White was the best defensive guard we have out there. I’m happy he persevered and getting that confidence back. I’m very happy with tonight’s game. I hope Spurs made the turn on being aggressive and we go from here. GSG!

maybe a poor man's role player Kawhi Leonard (2011-2014)

Aldrige had an amazing game. But, I expect more from DeRozan.
Overall - good game.

Good stuff, MoSpur02 :tu

Aminu is the ultimate tease. He plays really, really well about one every five games or so. The rest of the time, he's a low basketball IQ player with no consistently positive traits.

Thanks.

I figured Aminu maybe wasn't consistent ok r else I'd hear a little more about him. He played good last night and was physical on defense. I liked what I saw last night though. Too bad he doesn't do that regularly as you say.
