At home tonight as we host a 21-10 Nuggets team who currently sit atop the Western Conference standings. Will be a good test against one of the best teams in the league as we start our toughest stretch of the season thus far. We play them again in Denver on Friday as well, followed by the Clippers (on a b2b), Celtics, Raptors, Pistons, Grizzlies, & then OKC twice in a row. A tough stretch for sure. Let’s start it off right. No excuses. Let’s get it.

I’m hoping LW4 can get acclimated soon to help with guard penetration, where Spurs have problems relinquishing the lead. White/LW4 potentially could be a good defensive stop.

Up to this point is fair to say, that for except Toronto, Denver and Golden State, there are no Teams which are definitly better than the Spurs an thus very hard to beat. Our last two losses against Bulls and Rockets were because of a collapse in 4th Quarter and not beacuse they are a better team.

But Denver right now has injury Problems, which makes the game against them now winable. I think Spurs are better than we are giving them credit.

The Emergence of the Bench with Bertans, Poeltl, Belinelli.... has improved the overall strength of the Team, benching of Cummingham has made the Defense better by substraction. The only thing that is left to do in my opinion, is to cut minutes of LMA and give them to Poeltl. LMA can be used if he is on a hot streak and makes his shots and then he can really have an impact, but as soon he looks bad and struggles (like 4th Quarter against Rockets) take him off the court and sub-in Poeltl. Poeltl is not an offensive machine, but right now the best Defender on the spurs, which gives more value than a bad defense of LMA coupled with bad offense.

I've been doing some research, he (White) isn't as good of a shooter as I first thought.

from what I've seen:

speed/athleticism: average for a 6'5" guy (for example vs. Murray, he's way below average. And Murray is above average but no D-Wade out there. He's just light and springy.)
shooting: below average for a guard (inside and outside shooting. With confidence can get to average, average being a guy like Iman Shumpert, but not near above average like a Tim Hardaway Jr., i.e. not likely to be able to carry a team on any given night)
playmaking/court vision/passing: average to above average if playing with confidence. Likely not good enough to be a starting PG, but can be a serviceable backup once he gets confidence. Literally his only plus attribute as a prospect, besides size (as a comparison, Beno, from years back, had markedly better court vision and passing. Nando De Colo had markedly better court vision and passing. Both were serviceable backups).
