Good thing Trump can sell Putin's relatives penthouse suites in his properties in other countries, as he just handed Putin the keys to military superiority over the USA!

Honestly more balance is better for everyone. USA military wandered into the Middle East looking for a new "threat" because of the Fall of the Soviet Union
The sky isn't fucking falling.

On one hand they want the military basically dismantled. On the other they bitch because Russia isn't playing along.

It's not realistic to blame today's reported Russian miltech breakthroughs on the last two years of Trump.

Culturally it's no surprise Russia is making big military/scientific breakthroughs ahead of us. The brightest STEM minds there go into government/military research. The brightest minds here go into Silicon Valley Tech and Wall Street where the big money is.

Well said, pretty much this. Not to mention the fact our broken educational system is producing fewer and fewer bright STEM minds.

Even if they work, Russia probably can't afford to buy enough super duper weapons to make much of a difference.

Still have the little issue of MAD. There would still be hundreds coming back at them even if they got the first strike in.

Right, so no difference. They're still a poor ass country whose greatest military strength is sheer numbers.

Eh, not sure no difference is the correct answer.
Even an unverified ability to defeat US missile defenses might have deterrent value.

Ballistic missile "defense" is a just a fantasy like pretending essential oils can cure cancer.

Ballistic missile "defense" is a just a fantasy like pretending essential oils can cure cancer.I've heard that. Still not sure it wouldn't make the US a little more cautious vis-a-vis Russia.

Heard some indications that the Russians abilities for this missile are mostly hot air. They are really really difficult to pull off.
