Went to 7 against the Pistons and were down entering the 4th. Swept the Cavs. Perhaps ultimate final "NBA Final" series for the trio, but in what other regards for the franchise? Duncan had retired and we were whooping on GS in the WCFs until Zaza went full goon and Nephew went full poon.

That would be a nice. Getting pass Dubs first. I think Pops has the formula (I slways thought he had before Kiwi went down). If healthy and I mean all the cylinders are working as it should, I’m confident this team can go very deep. Next year is when expectations for the ring is reasonable especially if the development of our young guys continues, Murray comes back a stud, Lonnie/Metu develop into NBA players. Yes it would be a gratifying moment to all naysayers, not necessarily meeting the Raps coz that’s giving them too much credit for playing right and I rather Kiwi fails (sorry just my personal preference). It would be gratifying to prove the 3 point chucking teams wrong, basically the entire NBA including the media who embraced Harden as MVP. And get back to sensible basketball, finding ways to get players open, not just chucking 3’s.

2nd to 2014 if it happens next year. Or could be first if this year against all odds.

If this was even remotely close to happening you would see the most lobsided reffing in history to avoid it.

There would be a total of what 1 million viewers? That's like half our population up here in Canada

Dunno, but it would end the debate over Pop being the GOAT and likely put LMA in solid HoF position if the Spurs were to win such a series.

it would rank like this:

2014 - Beautiful Game
2003 - God Duncan
2005 - Ginobili deserved FMVP
1999 - The First One
2019 - Who needs Kawhitter for a ring?
2007 - TP9 Destruction

Are you a Spurs fan? Because if you've followed the Spurs for more than a few years you'd know not to call Pop, "Pops". It's either "Pop" or "Popovich". You keep writing "Pops" in all your posts. Sorry to nitpick, but it was starting to get annoying.

The difficulty level would be around 2003 New Jersey Nets, I think. A tough match-up but I think the Spurs are simply better. The hard part, maybe impossible part, is getting there.

Let's wait until the next game before acting like the Spurs are a better team than Toronto. Raps weren't even healthy. I'd expect the Spurs to be clear 'dogs going into that series, even though I do think they'd have a path to victory.

In terms of how much I cherish them:

2014 (Just can't imagine anything topping that)
1999 (Didn't think anything could top that until 2014 happened)
2005 (Best Finals the Spurs won)
2019 (Close, but I think this sets up the Spurs as the third-best team in the NBA leaderboards)
2003 (Finals I remember the least, but great fake memories)
(2013) Didn't win it, but it was the greatest Finals the team has been a part of so far.
2007 (Eh, it happened?)

In terms of difficulty of opponent:

(2013)
2005
2019
2014
2003
1999
2007

:lmao

The raps are 2nd best team. Have you seen them play dialed up? They have the scariest defensive potential in the league.

Green-Siakam-Leonard-Lowry is a hell of a defensive lineup.

The spurd have zerp chance against a dialed up Raptors team. Just check the raptors schedule, home and away record, injuries.

They've dealt with the most missed games. Most starting lineup change and are still ahead of everyone in the league.

Its a scary team.

They're only obvious flaw is 3pt. But thats variance. They'ire getting great shots.

When the lineup shortens, they'll have mostly Green, Vanfleet, Lowry, Leonard shooting threes. Thats a 40ish% three point squad.

And the Raps have winning record on the road against western confrence iirc. All while missing significant cogs in their team.

The spurs are like what 0-10 in the road?

Its a completely different tier of teams.

Below the Cavs series as those Cavs would sweep these Raptors.
Plus that team had a rising young Superstar while this Raptors team have Lowry.

Right at the top. This would be by far the least likely Finals run of them all.

Raps in 5

They are much better than the Spurs if Lowry and JV are healthy. Much better defensively too and they’ll have HCA while the Spurs are an atrocious road team

I said I'd be happy with making the 2nd round before the start of the season & I'd be happy with that still. We need more D on the perimeter.

Also think Raps could be limited by packing the paint. They're pretty average with the 3 ball.

:lol Sorry if I hurt your feelings. I’ve followed Spurs since 1988 when DRob turned the franchise around. Before then, I must admit I never heard of the Spurs. Growing up in the Philippines by the military base, they telecast NBA games early mornings. My brother and I would get up early Saturdays to watch, but only high profile players and their teams, Lakers vs Celtics, Sixers, Bulls, Atlanta, even the Suns, but somehow they never or very seldom showed the Spurs. Moving to San Antonio in 1988 in 104 degrees, people eating Tacos instead of burgers, I was forced to watch the only professional sports there is. Who the fuck are the Spurs??? Every player’s named ends in son :lol cadillac Anderson, Alvin, Willie. I think they won 26 games, fuck!! Then DRob finally played after his stint with the Navy, and turned it around. And since then I was a fan. And even more when Pops :lol or Timmy came and finally won the championship. I always thought Pop’s a genius with the way he focused on team effort. I always used on my sales meeting the value of team against “bought” talents. Anyways I never thought it bothered anyone with auto spelling :lol. Sorry
