Netflix and Hulu both came out with documentaries about the fyre festival shit-storm. Hard to say which one I liked better. I reckon the netflix doc is more about the operational aspects, while hulu's has more about the personalities. Fascinating subject.

I saw the Netflix one too. Damn :lol I'd never even heard of this. I'm surprised the main dude only got 6 years.

Just watched both last night. Netflix was better although I watched it first and they share quite a bit of footage. Although the Hulu one includes a post Fyre interview with McFarland.

Gotta say that I took some enjoyment watching the misery. Although I do have sympathy for the employees and laborers. I wish the influencers had felt more of the pain. And Ja Rule.

Ja Rule seemed to enjoy all the fun with zero consequence. Yet.

:lol I doubt Ja Rule had anything to do with the crimes that sociopath committed. I thought the Netflix doc was better made but the Hulu doc was ultimately more informative. It left no doubt what kind of person McFarland is.

Regarding the Netflix doc, I'm a little cynical about Fuck Jerry monetizing, after the fact, the disastrous scam his agency was so closely involved with. The Hulu one ultimately feels more honest.

Yeah I don't see jail for Ja but I can see him losing a lawsuit or two. Seemed like he opened his mouth on that radio show iirc

Well, Hulu paid McFarland $250,000 I think. So someone is monetizing either way.

but do agree that it should have been disclosed

wow, so hulu paid that psycho grinning charlatan? And Netflix paid the advertising company they interviewed in the doc?

Didn't know that but I guess I'm not surprised. Unfortunate, but as long as he ends up paying his dues in prison I guess it's his right. Jerry Media stands to make a lot more than $250K from their doc, and as far as I know, they're not facing criminal charges (not that I'm sure they should.)

I'm also assuming that $250,000 has to go against the $20+ million that he owes. I hate the idea that this piece of shit will probably resurface.

Wasn't Fuckjerry listed at the end as one of the other parties that are being sued? I know Ja Rule was one. I thought FJ was as well. Seemed like there were 2 other parties involved but maybe I'm remembering it wrong.

How does anyone in this day and age fall for someone like that, their bull shit? One look at this guy's queasy grin and you know he's totally totally BS.

I just can't get how every step of the way people are telling him this is gonna go wrong and he thinks it's all good....was he that dumb to think he'd face no repercussions?

He won't even get his ass plowed as he's likely got his own room in a nice white collar dorm prison, with high-speed wifi no less (though the porn sites and deep web will undoubtedly be blocked off, maybe social media too). Not to mention that he'll likely be out after serving 3 years w/good behavior. That's pretty much what went down from the money launderer guy from The Wolf on Wall Street.
