Sad what we could have gotten in a separate deal for him.

So glad for him. When people here say that a former Spur can't get success on other team...Danny is hitting game-winner shots and having a stat/amazing season. :tu

This season he’s showing off moves I’ve never seen from him before. Posting up, turn around fadeaway shots, driving to the basketball reverse layup. But his dribble game is still terrible:lol

Contract year Danny tbh. Happy for him but let's not act like he wasn't declining every year here since 2015. if he had played like this last year they never would have traded him. but maybe both sides just needed a change of scenery

This. He was pretty bad his last 3 seasons here. His 3G%s: .332 .379 .363 This year: .421

I do think Danny has been tapering off recently, and he's been losing minutes as a result. I'm never going to rag on Green, but I am not sure the Spurs would be much better with him than they currently are. DeRozan falling off has just been such a huge blow. That said, including Gasol in the Leonard trade instead of Green would have solved a couple of issues the team is facing now.

:lol some poor team will give this trashcan a huge contract and will instantly regret it.

He's a contract year player. He only had one skill offensively and was below average (35%) at it for the past three years. Disgusting...

FYI: Zach Howe was also a loud fan of Fathead's and was responsible for those poor Grizzlies sobs taking the bait of his "advanced" metrics. Coincidently, he isn't as loud this year..

I wonder if Raps bite on a big contract for Green?

Too early to say it's due to a contract year..is it a coincidence that he looks like the old Danny Green again the moment he escaped Aldridge-ball? We'll see..

It's still crazy to me that many people here wanted Jonathon Simmons(arguably the worst player in the NBA that gets minutes, one of the worst in recent NBA history) ahead of him:lol

He was also hurt last season and was essentially a throw in:( but hey atleast he gets another shot at a deep playoff run with nephew

Danny's D was always under-appreciated here. That factors into his net rating.

He's always needed to have his feet rooted when shooting 3's. His 3P% depends a lot on the quality of the looks he's getting. He's shooting more 3's and fewer 2's than he had been in SA, and getting better looks, instead of just being an afterthought.

I'm sure the contract year doesn't hurt.

By what metric? He was the second best player on the Spurs in the playoffs, after Kawhi went down. Shot 3's better than Danny, by far in that series. Scored twice as many points as Danny. Then in Orlando he led the team scoring about one game out of four.

He got injured. You just don't like him because he a black man wit attitude, you cracker bastard.

Keepin' it real

Well you can make anyone look good if you adjust the numbers.

Didn't mind trading him tbh. I love him as a player, but he'll be 32 & an off contract elite 3 & D guy. He's gonna get $15 million per as he gets into his mid 30s.

Danny is doing better with a different coach.

More like Pop no longer living rent free in Diva Danny's head, though I would take 10M/year Green over 27M/year DeRozan 10/10 times.

Pop to DeRozan... "So you think you're better than Danny Green?"

He had injury issues the past 2 years, his pre all star splits were impressive.

http://www.espn.com/nba/player/splits/_/id/3988/year/2018/danny-green Played with undetected groin tear

http://www.espn.com/nba/player/splits/_/id/3988/year/2017/danny-green Suffered quad injury in training camp and it lingered

I always liked Green, but on a post-Kawhi team, it made more sense to develop Derrick White, Dejounte Murray, and Lonnie Walker for less than $6 mil combined than it did to pay Danny $10 mil alone, with his free agency and a pay raise looming on the horizon.

He's a role player and spot up shooter.

He's very valuable with a talented team (like the old Spurs) that creates spacing.

He would have continued to languish with the current Spurs team (just like the last three seasons).

It was time to move on.

Don't forget Patty Mills for 12 million

The fact lou williams gets 8 mil compared to that scrub still irks me

I know, right? Lou Will has 2 gold diggers to provide for instead of one! He should make at least double what Mills does!

(He is gonna be worth every cent of it during the regular season! We know that he's been absolutely horrible in the playoffs the last decade but oh boy, those regular season numbers are all we need)

He was solid in the three point contest. Hit like 23 or 24 something like that , and I think he made a whole rack on one of them.. too bad he couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn when with us .....
