A compilation for Diaw's being a point forward, especially on his tremendous passing skills and court vision.

Already miss him though:(

I missed him before he left. He pretty much checked out after 2014. I like Boris, but his lack of fire drove me nuts.

This is why the Spurs might draft Jontay Porter

Always reminded me of a skinnier Escalade. Their games were very similar.

He came in the league as a PG if my memory is correct.

He was drafted as one by the Hawks, but never really played PG for them.

Yeah, they played him as a wing. They had a pretty much prime Jason Terry at PG, and a late 20s Jacques Vaughn, too. He didn't move to the front court until after he was traded to PHO in the Joe Johnson swap, and Amare got hurt.

Right. He’s going to play PG over Steve Nash. He also had started to leave skinny in the rear view mirror by then, which is why they plugged him in at center when Amare went down to injury.

Diaw was more of a Power Point.

There are some legitimate beefs with what Pop has done recently, but the adjustment he made with Diaw is what turned the tide in the 2014 playoffs and won that Championship. He led the team in AST's in the Finals, and was a close second to Duncan in RB's. Pretty amazing combination of skills.

It's amazing how different were Suns-Boris and Spurs-Boris...He was an elite player on those two versions.

That speaks of his talent...What a gifted player.

He was a very talented and high bball IQ player, but seemed easy-go-lucky guy. Tbh he could’ve been way better had he taken the game more seriously

Wonderful player, for me too one of my favorite players. I see a lot of him in Jokic.
Also, he was one of the laziest NBA players ever: this says a lot about the enormous talent he had, he could hide his slow fat ass with his godly hands and brains.

He was fat, but never slow. Don’t confuse him exerting just enough energy to make a play with him not being an ELITE athlete. He just almost never showed it. Most people have seen it and it didn’t register, because he didn’t end up making the play on Westbrook in game 6, Kawhi did. Boris was coming up the other wing, and was in position to blow up the shot if Kawhi had been pump faked. He jumped, smacked the right side of the glass, and almost got the left side, too, his head going thru the net. Read the post a couple above yours by blah28. That’s an evaluation by an NBA GM.

I am thinking if I am having a wrong perception of him

He has very high bball IQ and good court vision, but sometimes I just think he's a bit too fat and lazy as well:reading

The French basketball player became a member of the Toulon Marine Rifle Reserve this week.

Recognized playmaker. Underrated defender. Championship and Beautiful Game key contributor. Amazing Lifer.

Half of this forum criticized him during his time in San Antonio.

It's been said many times, but Diaw if he played with that effort all the time, would have been an all-star. Put him instead of Draymond on the current Warriors and he would be getting all-star nods every season.

No no no no NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...
If you think the Warrior's team is unfair to play against & has broken the league as constructed right now, Diaw instead of Draymond on that team would just be ridiculous & over the top. The thing about Boris is his BBIQ is soooooooooo high that he could make good teams great & great teams GOAT, & he'd do that with effortless game. Just the glance of an eye for the slightest misdirection & the defense is toast. Can you imagine Diaw with Durant, Curry, Klay, Boogie, Iggy & the rest of the bench? HELLLLL NAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW & thank God that never happened. Diaw was so good that he'd actually be the x-factor on the 2014 Spurs against the current Warriors
