We all know that you don't want to make too much of preseason. On the other hand, I would feel more comfortable if we had won more than one game. It doesn't exactly give us momentum going into the season. I would be less concerned if we had won at least half of our games.
Why did we only win one game in preseason? Is it purely the rotation. Ginobili apparently said that the team wasn't where they had hoped it would be by this time.
Does this foretell a slow Spurs start to the season?
Any thoughts?
Y'all think that we will still get off to a reasonably good start?
Is there no correlation at all between preseason and the regular season?
P.S. who all is watching the Jan 21 2005 game between the Spurs and the Suns with Manu' 48 point performance and Tims 30 pts, 19 rebounds where we overcame a 17 point deficit in the fourth quarter to win in overtime at the Suns' America West home? Weird to see Malik there and odd to see Rasho starting.

It might but the Spurs have started slow before and finished strong. To me...as long as everyone stays healthy...the length of the season will allow for the team to come together.

what more momentum would we need going into the season than coming off a championship season?
all the guys know that the real record starts tuesday, they're just joshin around right now, dont worry about it

I wouldn't care if they lost all their preseason games because a lot of preseason is just evaluating talent and looking at combinations with new players. But I don't like to see specific players struggling to grasp concepts or not trying hard .. especially if they are players who will be fighting for minutes.
Now that the 3 invitees are gone, I think tonight's game should (hopefully) be closer to what we might see on opening night in regard to substitutions, etc. But who knows .. Iverson's not playing, so maybe the Spurs won't play hard tonight either.

My concern is injuries... When stars are hurt it hurts the league and the effected franchise. Longer pre season contributes to more joint, knee, back and other odd injuries.

Didn't see much of pre-season play. But, the first 10 minutes of the Heat game the Spurs looked liked a championship team. I am hoping that they showed that, Pop saw it and then shutdown until 11/1. We'll find out. Glad that they start with the Nuggets...a real good team that wants to pay the Spurs back big time.

Preseason's just a tease... They're basically all just messin around seemingly, no one's taking things too hard for now.. And it's better that they don't... I don't want anyone injured!
They'll be back to normal as soon as season starts.. It may take a few games for them to adjust all the new players and their rotation... But I'm sure it'll work out...
The better is yet to come... :)
