The Spurs have one more chance (Monday in Brooklyn) to salvage this rodeo trip, having allowed their opponents to score an amazing 124.9 points per 100 possessions as they've lost six of the first seven games. Four of the six losses have been one of the five most efficient offensive games of the season for the Spurs' opponent. Not only were they the first visiting team to lose at Madison Square Garden in more than 12 weeks, and not only did they lose all four quarters on Sunday, but it was the Knicks' most efficient game (130 points on 98 possessions) in almost five years (since Mar. 12, 2014).

I agree White and Murray would be better defenders.

Now what?

:pop: now we give Forbes a healthy extension. He has earned it.

Last night was a horrid loss, for sure but I still think the Spurs have a good shot at keeping the 7th seed. The Clippers and Kings have a tougher schedule based on the eye test. I also really rather the Spurs play Denver in the first round.

forbes is a bargain at his current ~3 mil/year salary. he's just playing a much heavier role than he should. starting and playing 28mpg is not desirable... but you're always going to wind up with players getting undeserved minutes when you've been killed by injuries. murray would probably be getting about 25 mpg himself. white was averaging 30mpg in january in between his injuries. and ideally walker would have been able to chip in about 10mpg or so himself, but his development was stunted due to early injury.

it also doesnt help that he and mills are redundant. but i'd take forbes at 3 mil over patty at 12 any day

The Knicks game was obviously an embarrassment, but let's not act like Forbes or Mills are supposed to be playing the roles that they are.

A healthy Murray would have been playing 30-35 minutes a game, and would have allowed White to slide into the backup role.

We all know that Mills and Forbes are awful on defense. It's just a terrible stroke of luck that our two young and good defenders in the backcourt have been sidelined for most, if not all, of the season.

bullshit these are the knicks who hadn't won a game in months

It was an embarrassing loss no matter who was playing what role

Thus, my opening statement..."The Knicks game was obviously an embarrassment"

We can argue till the cows come home about why the Spurs suck right now...but it's not all on DeRozan or Aldridge, or Forbes, or Mills...

Shit happens in sports. And we are stuck in the toilet.
