Talk of a Duke vs UNC final (rivals have never met in the NCAA Tournament) got me thinking of the ultimate hypothetical matchups in a Final
Until College Football recently instituted a playoff, the only major American sport where two inter-conference/league rivals could meet in the Finale was CBB. You'll never see a Yankees vs Red Sox WS, Canadians vs Maple Leads Cup or Lakers vs Clippers Final (LOL)
But one day we might see Real vs Barca. There has been the British final (2008 Manchester over Chelsea) and German (2013 Bayern over Dortmund).
So I quickly googled Brazil vs Argentina in the World Cup and was shocked to find out the nations have squared off 4 times and even in a knockout - 1990. Does anyone rememver this match? Rivalry and Maradona involved, the hype must have been immense. Furthermore Brazil was no slouch by winning the Tournament 4 years later in 1994
