They have better coaching, veteran leadership than the typical East team. The issue with the East IMO is usually overall talent level as well as coaching, or lack thereof. Therefore teams usually end up playing ghetto NYC style chucker ball, a la Hawks/Wizards/Knicks ball.

Or team play rough and tumble bullshit ball with no talent, i.e. the Pacers/Pistons type ball.

Now the the East has some talent, if the teams have good coaches with power to establish their systems (not get shit on/fired by shitty owners -- looking at you, Danny Ainge), the teams should improve while the Dubs start to implode and make things competitive again.
