Warriors down 38 to the Mavericks at home heading to the fourth. Assuming they don't win the final quarter by 19, this will be their sixth 20+ point home loss this season.

Yeah how the fuck are the Mavs up by 40 at Golden State? Did they swap with their D-League team or something?

Y'all almost beat the new #1 seed, Denver, a couple weeks ago too (and we have been playing well recently).

NBA is the worst sports ticket in town. Those fuckers mail it in so often. Don't even play back2backs anymore. That NBA demographic work ethic

I don't agree with that tbh. Back in the early 00's, you'd never see a team like the Clippers blow out the Shaq/Kobe Lakers no matter how meaningless the game was. Something has changed the past few seasons. My theory which I pointed out in the other thread, is that every team has copied Golden State's run and gun style and filled out their roster accordingly. So if one team decides to somewhat take it easy one night, and the other team comes out on fire behind the arc you can see games get out of hand quickly.

The Bulls were the worst team in the league in 2001-02 & beat the eventual champion Lakers both times. Shit like that always happened. Maybe not blowouts, but "any given Sunday" upsets always happened in the regular season.

Spurs lost at home to the 11-win Bobcats in one of our championship seasons and another year we lost on the road to the Nets who won like 10 games all that year.

That's my point. Nowadays you see more "blowout upsets" due to everyone basically playing the same brand of uptempto basketball

also due to "rest" days where all-stars sit out to "preserve" themselves for the stretch run

Gone are the days stars prided themselves on playing 80-82 games in a season. And that was when the regular season didn't start until the last Tuesday before November. Lol, pansies.

He definitely helped start the trend. Phil Jackson did it occasionally but not with Kobe. Say what you want about Kobe but he was proud and not a pansy. He respected and feared Bruce Bowen rather than whining and bitching about him like whiny babies like Gay Allen, Vince Carter and others.

To be fair, Bowen kept sticking his foot under where Vince Carter was trying to land.

as much as I hated Kobe, I respected him, but the one I hated the most (and didn't respect him more than a rat or cockroach) was Derek Fisher. That asshole deserves cancer, seriously.

He deserved what he got.

My 4th favorite game of the epic 04-05 regular season was the one in New Jersey where he threw a huge temper tantrum when his team had a 14 point 4th quarter lead, got himself ejected, then the Spurs stormed back and won... Tony Parker and Brent Barry were huge in the comeback. Epic victory that made me feel all warm and fuzzy that night.

By the way, my 2nd and 3rd favorite games of that regular season were the Clippers and Warriors back to back double OT wins late in the year when we were extremely shorthanded.

My favorite? The 17 point 4th quarter comeback to beat the Suns in OT, in late January IIRC. Manu's 49 point game. That was an amazing game all around.

Fuck off. I defend Bowen a lot, but what he did to Carter is indefensible. That's just shitty basketball.
