I thought this stat was incredible. Jordan Howenstine put this stat out there his twitter that provides even more evidence of how spoiled we've been as Spurs fans. The Spurs are the only NBA franchise to have had a regular season record below the .500 mark for less than 1,000 days over the last 22 years. And the Spurs number? 65 days.

3. Mavericks - 1,025
4. Trail Blazers - 1,044

Wow...and it's been that long since the Rockets won their titles? Seems like just yesterday....or at least within the last 10-15 years.

Every team does a bad deal now and then. The Gasol contract sucked, but Mills is the culture guy. I hated on Mills contract, too, but compared to some of the other wasted space you see in this league making a lot more than Mills, it doesn't stack up too badly. At this point in his deal he's probably not overpaid compared to the league. Problem with Spurs fans is you don't see what other teams do, but rather dwell on the occasional misstep by the FO.

They're doing a lot more right than wrong, and I think this stat shows that.

It also shows how good those franchises are. And they're all in the West. And each of them went through some bad patches, but were able to rebuild.

I believe the Spurs are the only franchise with a winning record against every single team in the NBA. Also the winningest franchise in terms of winning percentage during the regular season, higher than the Celtics and Lakers.

During Tim Duncan's tenure, the Spurs faced and beat every single team in the Western Conference during the playoffs, except one. They never faced the Rockets, but did the year after he retired... and they beat them. They've been good for so long, basically, that they faced Sacramento and the Timberwolves in the playoffs and won.
