Before Durant this dogface fag was the original "breathe on him and draw 2 free throws" mongerer. Ponies and Jewban endorsed it, too.

I for one won't miss this choker.

Kobe Da Best actually carried his team back from 14 down with 4 minutes left and they won that game... Kobe retired with grace, Derp is washed up scum.

Them winning their last game puts their first round pick in play for Atlanta. They are now at 6 in the lottery and need to be a top 5 to keep their pick. Winning against us makes their chances of keeping their top 5 pick even worse. That overtime win might give Atlanta a top 6 pick. Strange they fought so hard to win that meaningless game with the negative ramifications so high.

Optimistic me: Since they won the game, that gives them even more incentive not to try against the Spurs.

Pessimistic me: If they were really focused on the pick, they wouldn't have won the game in the first place.

Clippers blowing 12 point 3rd quarter lead to Flakers. This after losing the night before too thus letting OKC and the Spurs pass them up. Doesn't pass smell test.

I've heard talk of that throughout the season. maybe so-called journalists spouting BS.

Dirk at 40, is greatly diminished after 20+ years. I, for one, would not regret his retirement. His athleticism has never been at Manu's and Vince's level. He runs like he's got rickets. I love the guy, been a great career.

I fucking hated Dirk pre-2011.....

The emergence of the LeBron-era Heat and the Warriors gave me a newfound appreciation for Dirk and the battles with the 2000s Mavs. Hell, even the Kobe/Pau Lakers weren't as faggy as those two super teams tbh.....

Not gonna lie, I wasn't mad when the 2011 Mavs rang and that was mostly because of Dirk....

I've no idea how good or bad Timmy and Dirk are as people in their private lives, thought they both seem like very good persons. They are certainly good teammates. But strictly as a player Dirk wasn't in Timmy's class. TD was a monster on defense, Dirk was someone who had to be hidden.

Dirk at least earned his battles against the Spurs over the years, and especially in 2006.

Allen and Fisher just happened to be in the right place at the right time and made miracle shots.

As for Paul, he had one great series and made a great shot...but fuck CP3.

Exactly. Once he had wing defenders and Chandler in the middle, that's when they won the whole thing. You had to have the right pieces around him to cover up some of his defensive problems. TD was the guy covering up for people, plus dominating on the other end. There's definitely a gap between the 2.

Generally, this is the time of year when the Spurs take their foot off the gas and rest players, also giving younger players a chance to play. Walker has only played about 100 minutes this season, I could see Pop letting Forbes sit and giving Walker 30+ minutes in a game that probably shouldn't be competitive.

Um that was when the team was dominant and not worried about seeding. This team pretty much NEEDS to win this game so I don’t think anyone would rest. However, in this situation it’s not like Walker would a downgrade in talent tho.

First time I saw Dirk, I thought "taller, but clumsier version of Detlef Shremp with an ugly shot". I guess, practice makes perfect.

I never liked how quickly Cuban dismantled championship team. I thought they had couple more good runs in them (I mean Tyson was extremely important piece for them).

Some may like Dirk, some can hate him, but the dude was true pro. Another thing - how many times he spent playing for the hopeless German NTs? That's an example of true manhood.

(21 years ) x (4 vs Spurs / year) = 104 season games, 52 in SA

then add in all the Dirk vs Spurs playoff games, and Spurs escaped one intense PO series mainly because crazy Manu fell into Dirk's knee

another PO game, IIRC beating Spurs with 52/52 FTs.

Huge rivalry, huge memories.
