The Nets will give Philly some trouble. This is a good matchup for Brooklyn. Russell is gonna be a handful for the overrated Simmons and I like BK's energy and depth. And with Embiid not at 100 percent who knows.

Nets in 6. Brooklyn is a much better team than their record indicates.
And with Simmons out there, I actually expect the next backcourt to outplay the Sixers.
This would be the "surprise" of the east

Great individual talent, but you can't really maximize the combination of Embiid/Simmons/Butler, it isn't a natural fit..

Great individual talent, but you can't really maximize the combination of Embiid/Simmons/Butler, it isn't a natural fit..
i really think simmons is the awkward fit. on a team with so many guys that can generate offense (embiid, butler, harris), a ball dominant point guard will be an awkward fit. particularly one that is a complete non-threat off the ball.
but you dont just part with talent like simmons. i dno what the solution is.

shaq didnt even do shit against the weak center era of 2000-2006
Huh? Shaq was the most dominant force in sports (not just basketball) from 00-02 and was still a monster from 03-06.
Hack-A-Shaq to the extreme that guys like Popovich and Cuban used it, wasn't really a thing until the 2010s.

Didn't get to watch the game until now. The Sixers really sucked. I didn't realize the Nets stuck it to them by the second quarter.

I wouldnt be surprised if they trade ben simmons in a year if he doesn't learn to shoot. Like i said before, he is just a bigger michael carter williams. And even mcw can make a shot sometimes.

Lots of hate for Simmons here, but Embiid low basketball IQ sticks out like a sore thumb, and he showboats like he's worth a shit. Not to mention he's hurt all the time.

Embiid will be lucky if he plays 500 games In his career. He also gets a lot of ft's and there is no foul. He hits a guy that is standing still and it somehow its always a foul. For the most dominant player in the league, he sure doesn't look like one.

04-14-2019, 03:25 AM
Simmons still cannot shoot and won't even take any jumpers and Embiid looks like his career will be over in a couple of years because of all the injuries. They might max out Jimmy Butler, and already screwed up picking Fultz and trading him away. There future doesn't look too bright.
Brooklyn looks like they will be good in a few years. A Franchise point guard, and a lot of money to throw at players that want to play in New York.

Yeah, no one want to admit it: But Philly so-called "Process" is closer to turning into a fiasco than becoming a smashing, strategic "team building" success.

Exactly, you can't run the offense through Simmons and when he gets fouled he can't even make free throws.

Boban would have been a star in the 90s and early 2000s, he was just born in a perimeter-friendly era where he can't play more than 10 minutes, unfortunately.. I'm sure he'd much rather have today's money though:lol

Sixers kicked their ass in the third quarter. Wrecked 'em. But they had to, season on the line. Nets leave with what they needed, a split.

Interesting contrast here: Philly tanked for multiple years and are now in the precarious situation of having two starters that will be free agents this summer, a center who may not be able to stay healthy, and a PG who can't shoot at all. Brooklyn built themselves up organically and have a good shot at signing a max free agent this off season, and possibly passing Philly.
