Spurs match up well. It's not a long shot.

I was feeling confident in our matchup against them until last week's curb-stomping at their hands, though.

I think that loss was by design. I could be wrong but Pop getting thrown out and the way they loss. I viewed it as them not wanting to give the Nuggets much else to scout and have tape on. Pop knew around that time that they were one of 2-3 teams they could possibly play come playoff time. But that’s just my assumption.

Why does that loss carry so much weight? The Spurs were 5-27 from three, and no starter played more than 24 minutes. It's not indicative of a typical rotation. Pondexter and Cunningham played a combined 24 minutes.

The last game was a game at altitude that was the second night of a back to back. Denver actually traveled in the night before too but are much more accustomed to altitude games. Also, their main guys played well under 30 minutes vs. 36-38 for top Spurs.

The NBA cut back on teams playing 2NBTB in Utah and Denver a few years ago. Wonder what record is in those games.

In this series, the Spurs will have more than adequate time to adjust to altitude and get rest.

All that said, Denver is really good and it’ll be tough for the Spurs to prevail.

This series seems about as dead even as they get. Spurs have a great shot. Kind of reminds me of the 2010 playoffs. A deceiving 7th seed, overachieving 2nd seed. This ought to be a real dogfight and I think our guys got a good shot

exactly what I thought of... and then we`ll get Goran Dragick'd by Dennis Schroeder in the 2nd round

Pop managed to get intentionally ejected in 60 seconds, and previously planned with Messina to lose by 30? You really believe that?

I'd give Denver a slight edge: like 60/40 chances.
For sure we have a solid chance for an upset

This coudl go easily to 7 games. Both teams are homecourt juggernauts. Which means that Denver has the advantage.

The last day of the season worked out very well for us. We won't have to see the Warriors or Rockets until the WC Finals......if we can make it that far. We'll need to start strong, keep our heads in the game and shut Denver down in the 4th qtr. Won't be easy but, it is doable.

:lol Oh man. One of the biggest scrub beatings I’ve ever witnessed as a fan! Our guys really aren’t good enough to do much different but I think beating the Nuggets at least is fairly attainable

Game 1 is the game to take. All the pressure is on them. They must protect home court. They were the best home team of the year. So if we come out strong and have a lead going into the 4th, the pressure may end up being too much and they fall apart.
But we haven't been the most clutch team on the road so obviously we have a lot of vulnerabilities on the road. It should be interesting to see.

Pop obvs threw that game to affect seeding and not show his hand against a likely playoff matchup so close to the series.

I'm curious if this current Spur's team feels any added pressure in this year's playoffs. In this round, Imo, a lot of the pressure will be on Denver to prove they are a ascending team.

To me 2nd game seems more attainable. Especially if the first is a bloodbath. I don't think Denver can keep the same focus if they win easy the first game. they are all playoff rookies, basically. I think we can get them off-guard on the second game, whilst I expect them to come sprinting out of the gate tonight.

Kinda do. Maybe he didnt intend to do it 60 secs in, but I initially thought he wanted observe like a football OC, up in the booth.

Not just observing the Nugz, but maybe he wanted observe Spurs tendencies, etc.
