Initial interview screeners at work comprise of a hispanic, black and white person. When the white person said she could barely understand a Spanish-speaking interviewee and put her in for the lower level position (of 2 positions), project manager said that she discriminated - that Spanish is not a problem here at work (it is since the 3 supervisors are non-Spanish speakers and need a translator for one of our team members). She and I were stunned (like you're supposed to pass her on when you can't understand what she's answering?). When I suggested that people at work speak English to our team member who doesn't speak much English, I've been told that I need to learn Spanish - that in 5 years, work will be Spanish speaking. I won't even talk about how atrocious the English is in emails.

The U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco largely affirmed a July ruling from a lower court.

The Trump administration lost a court bid on Thursday aimed at striking down California’s “sanctuary” statutes

that prevent local law enforcement from helping the U.S. government’s crackdown on illegal immigration.

Scores of Democrat-controlled cities and counties have adopted policies to limit cooperation with federal immigration enforcement, making them a target for President Donald Trump.

He recently suggested he would send an “unlimited supply” of migrants in the country illegally to sanctuary cities.
