Everybody already knows the Clippers play harder than most teams to win games. I’m talking about the will to keep grinding and stick it out. Our team plays lazy sometimes (I feel they will be prone to come out a little flat since they took a game already because it’s in most of their nature. Very strong chance Denver will come out and punch us in the mouth early and it won’t be shocking to be down double digits. Gotta stick with it is what I’m saying.

Note: my first sentence seems misplaced but I was just referring to the learning from the Clippers part.

Nah - losing Cousins actually helps them in the match-up with Houston. Harden and Paul would have PnRed him to death. If they lose to Houston it’ll be because Green has regressed and Durant has already checked out.

Nah, they are still winning it all. Actually Boogie being out may help them, their best 5s are Durant and Raymond anyway. Their main weakness is a weak bench. So if Paul can be healthy I would give Houston 25-30% chance but not more than that.

Capela is an offensive monster this year, and they have nobody to stop him. Houston will play them smart, Harden can easily get Capela 10 lobs a game.
I think this is the only series where Cousins is necessary for GS. The death lineup cannot play 25 minutes.

They have a 2015 Warriors feel IMO..the problem is that the 2015 Warriors didn't have to play a team as good as them in the Finals, tough:lol

Give it time.If they are to fulfill every 2015 Warriors criteria besides changing the coach and having the best record in the league and the MVP,we should expect season enders for Curry and Thompson in the playoffs (Love and Kyrie style)! :rollin

This

From the "all stars" on the warriors roster, Cousins was the least worrisome. An injury of this magnitude to Curry/Durant...now we're talking. Even Thompson to a lesser extent.

But Cousins? He hardly even played during the season.

Heh. The guy asks if they tell the young guys how good it is in GS, and Durant talks about how they maybe practice 10-15 minutes a day, and have optional shootarounds. "I know if I was a young guy coming into this league in a situation like this, it would be hard to focus in every day. So it's good that you got vets who can tell you, you know, exactly what goes on in this league."

So in other words, Kerr isn't doing shit as a coach other than having the most talent of any team. Durant was always a gym rat, and that wasn't a compliment.

Huge respect for Adams on this play and response on confrontation afterwards.

When Lillard complains about the hard screen Adams straight up points to Meyers Leonard and goes "Tell it to him, don't complain to me.It's his job to warn you about a back screen" :lol

So basically Brown earlier in the season invited Bowen to talk to the team about playoff toughness and what made the Spurs successful and Embiid challenged him and they got into it with Bruce.

And who "gets into it" with someone giving a team a motivational speech? That's beyond immature to just infantile.

Sean Marks got a $25K fine for "entering the referees locker room" after the last game. Today one of the Nets owners, Joe Tsai, got a $35K fine for tweeting the owners' support for what Marks did.

Good for them. The refs jobbed the Nets badly in that game, and the series ought to be 2-2. It may not be dignified, or the "Spurs way", but good for them for having the balls to make a statement. Now the Brooklyn fans should pay the fines for them in pennies.

Just mentioned that in another thread. Draymond was WAY over the line. We've seen players ejected recently for so much less than that, even on a single technical. It looked like Draymond was taunting the ref because he knew he couldn't be tossed. Usually a coach will pull a player in a situation like that, to let him calm down. Kerr didn't even look to the bench. It was like he knew the refs weren't going to do anything.

And I agree. That's how I wanted to see the Spurs play. If they lose, that's okay. But play with heart.

Solely because of Manu, LDN, and TP, tbh. Their numbers didn't show it but they had heart that motivated the team.

Crazy this Clippers team is taking GS to 6 games. They play hard and tough and they’re athletic. Polar opposites to the Spurs. Spurs really need to revamp this roster. White DJ Lonnie and Poeltl can stay everyone else needs to go.

Clippers have legit energy guys and lunatics like Beverley and Harrell to keep their team going if they stop playing hard..Spurs don't have that on the roster, obviously..

Spurs should offer the MLE to Beverley and start him with Murray and White . Those three could guard anybody on the perimeter.

Bring DeMar off the bench . Any minutes needed besides DeMar's at the 3 to be filled by White or Murray.

Walker and Forbes backup guards . Mills 11th man (unless traded) . Get rid of Beli .

Hope Bertans and Rudy can be cheap imitations of Gallo and Harrell .

LMA and Jakob the bigs . #19 and #29 to the g league . Anything else , I'm happy.

Won't happen , since Bev would likely take less to stay with the Clips.

Why would he sign with the Spurs? Look at Clippers roster. They have 5 years of competitive core ahead. They have two super rookies, they have Harrell, they have a somewhat healthy Gallo that they can keep or trade for equivalent talent. They have a scoring machine (getting old, but still). And they have cap space.

Fucking awsome to be a Clips fan right now.

Beverley will sign on july 1st for a sandwich and a bag of chips if that's what it takes.

I agree. Just a pipe dream of mine. Hopefully Clips get 2 max players and can't even offer the sandwich and chips.

Anyway , Spurs already missed their chance at Beverley along with Harris in the preseason .

That game wasn't a fluke, either. The Clippers took it from GSW.

It makes me queasy to think that the Clippers were able to sign Lou Williams for 3/$24M with only $1.5M guaranteed in the last year. And the Spurs were able to sign Patty Mills to a straight up 4/$50 deal. If I were Pop, I'd fire myself.

Draymond Green charge call

I wish they had included what came next. Dray deserved the charge call, even though Beverly sold it. But after that, Green just went ape shit crazy at the ref. It also looked like Green intentionally raked his leg on Beverly as he stepped toward the ref. And his fit just went on and on. I really expected him to get tossed, even in GS. It just made them losing that much sweeter.

Yeah, Draymond's pretty much doing his version of a step over move on Beverly while he's on the floor-- the same type of move Lebron made on Draymond in the finals that got him so upset & led to the nutshot and suspension.

The amount of disrespect Green gets away with is incredible. And to think, Tim Duncan got thrown out of a game for laughing on the bench.

Difference is the Clippers are better coached and have guys that care, have pride, etc....

Their team leader is a guy that actually defends and brings energy, not somebody that is organizing coffee dates before 25 point losses and then gets absolutely roasted as soon as he comes into the game :lol..

I also doubt that Doc is leading pregame meetings with a "Guys, it's just a game, basketball doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things..."

lol at the bolded part, so true smh

Coc Rivers, I honestly wouldn't mind if he took over after Pop. He coaches by feel not by pre-determined rotations. If something's not working he mixes shit up. If something is working, he runs it to death. I remember when they upset us in '15 he just kept going back to the double screen at the top for CP0 because the Spurs never figured it out. Doesn't take the high road if the refs fuck up, younger, hungrier, etc.

An awkward exchange unfolded at Warriors practice Friday. Head coach Steve Kerr began addressing reporters near the court in the team's downtown Oakland practice facility, but Kerr quickly asked a Warriors PR official if the music thumping in the facility could be turned down so he could hear reporters' questions better and so reporters could hear his answers better
.
The Warriors PR official replied that the music was loud because forward Draymond Green, who was shooting on a nearby court, wanted it that way. (The Warriors PR official moved toward the volume switch and Green shouted to keep the music at the same level.) In the end, the music stayed at the same volume.

A reporter then jokingly asked Kerr who was in charge. "Not me, obviously," he said. After the media session ended, Kerr told reporters, "Enjoy the music."

Just a sidenote to the season. The NBA issued it's Last Two Minute report on Game 1 between GSW and Houston. They say that last no-call on Draymond guarding Harden was correct. But there were three more blown calls in the last two minutes - all in favor of GSW.

I know calls come and go, and you can't blame a loss on them - ya, ya, ya. But GSW always seems to get more than their share. They are already have too much talent to fight the zebras too. I'm no fan of the Rockets or D'Antoni, and I hate James Harden. But the refs jobbed them out of a Game 1 steal. It's not enough to be the better team, you have to be better by that much more of a margin. As a fan, it's hard to slog through a long 82 game season, when you know you're going to have to face that eventually.

Interesting story about the Sixers pre playoffs, kinda involving the Spurs.

So basically Brown earlier in the season invited Bowen to talk to the team about playoff toughness and what made the Spurs successful and Embiid challenged him and they got into it with Bruce.
It's one thing to troll in twitter and another thing to disrespect a veteran champion in his face.Shameful.

What's this Bowen story? The video is gone. I was going to consider going for the 76ers the rest of these playoffs, but if this shit is true, then I may reconsider.
