Use Mills sparingly. Use Forbes very sparingly. Maybe don't even play one of them. Frankly, I'd even give some of their minutes to guys like Walker or Cunningham, who can actually play defense. Cut Bertans minutes if he's being dead weight.
White, LMA, Gay, Derozan, Poeltl, Bellinelli are the core six. Don't get cute with your stupid planned rotations regardless of whether it fucks stuff up, Pop. Again, if you need placeholders to give a blow, go with guys who can actually play defense or put Forbes/Mills in for two minutes max a pop.
All this said, I know Pop gonna do something stupid like give Mills 28 minutes.

Spurs' starters have outplayed the Nuggets' starters all series long.
Play White, DeRozan, Aldridge and Poeltl all around 40 minutes and we might pull the upset.

Poetl will be in foul trouble, there's no way he'll play anywhere near that much, but I agree..White could be in foul trouble next game, too, all depends on which officiating crew is in Denver and whether they'll allow him to be aggressive, he's been active with his hands..

Do people think Cunningham is a good defender? Walker too? Forbes has been fine, without him, this team would be an early 90's team from 3. Mills could stand to play less, though I do like that he has been getting to the rim since his 3 isn't falling.
Pretty much go with 8 again and have White play closer to 36 minutes and Mills 12 and the Spurs will have a shot.

Mills got 25 minutes while missing all seven threes in addition to being his defensive liability self. That shit not gonna work in Game 7.

He had 6 assists and some nice finishes inside. So he created quite a few points in that time. That's honestly all we can ask for, his offense has to be stellar to cancel out what happens on D

To elaborate, Mills got killed on the pick n' roll and Denver guards were made to look like all-stars. Adjustments need to be made. Of course they got away with it in SA. They're not getting away with it in Denver where the role players are feeding off the crowd.

LMA sat out the last 15 minutes of Game 5. CIA Pop. He'll be ready to log 40 plus. DDR should get two minute blows and go upper 30's. Consider using guys like Montiejunas in the first half to give bigs blows. But don't over rely on soft Mills and Forbes to get their asses kicked while throwing up bricks.

I'm not just trying to be a jackass, but isn't that sort of the opposite of shortening the rotation? What you're really saying, I think, is take some minutes away from Patty and Brynn.

I'm not really counting guys getting 3:37 PT. Yea, I'm not being literal. Playing six or seven only not feasible. But playing six or seven only on double digit minutes, yes.

It might work if they execute the way they did tonight. I think if Denver gains any real momentum with that bunch, he'll pull the plug quicker on em'

Yeah. Malone is an insecure, panicky sort. He already played the officiating card specifically with Poeltl's screens between games 3 and 4, I have no doubt he'll do it again (if not publicly, privately). He knows he's probably been the Spurs best player in the series and that the double big lineup has mostly neutralized or negated some of their strengths (points in the paint, offensive rebounding).

Im still pretty concerned that our main ball handlers (White/DeRozan) have not effectively solved how DEN is defending PnR. Spacing has to be better, decisions have to be quicker and they have to hit Jakob/LMA going toward the rim. Right now they are struggling to go in a direct line to the basket; instead they are getting turned going away from the basket then having to reset and figure stuff out.
I think a small but big thing would be to get going a bit faster/earlier. Seems like it’s slow to develop sets and waiting for that screen vs being aggressive and pushing, screen or not, when they get it.

There is a reason why Cunningham has been chained to the bench and it's because he's a turnstile on D and teams ignore him on offense.
You want to play him over Beli and give Forbes? This team has already had enough issues scoring against Denver and Cunningham won't do anything to stop them on the other end.

He wasn't benched for defensive reasons, bruh. He's a much better defender than Mills and Forbes, who are bottom two percentile. Give me a break, dude.
And yes, I'm talking about playing Cunningham over Forbes or Mills in a two to three minute span to not let a Denver lead balloon like it does when the midgets are in there.

Gay needs a master game in Game 7. Nuggets 2nd unit run over our 2nd, but not tonight. Not when Gay is posting them and slowing it down avoiding the transition avalanche on shorty Mills, no defense Beli. So I’ll count on Gay as the X Factor. Gay scores +15, Spurs win

If you’re looking for a savior, look at White. Maybe Beli, Gay or Patty shoot the 3 well. Poetl is limited, but at least he seems to care about winning and losing.

Our starters were destroyed in games 4 and 5.
In game 6 our starters made shots like crazy but still wasn't able to get a needed separation which we got with Mills-Belli-White-Gay-Poeltl lineup.
Sadly in today's NBA 3point shooting is crucial.

Defensive Rtg per 100 possessions in the RS (On Court)
Cunningham- 111.0 :wow in 929 minutes (Worst on the team, of the 10 players who played at least 900 minutes)
Forbes- 109.2 in 2293 minutes
Mills- 108.2 in 1926 minutes
Cunningham is the worst defender of the 10 players that played at least 900 minutes on this team. When on the floor, Cunningham had a offensive rtg of 102 :lol , off court was 113.4
Basically, I was exactly right. The offense was horrible when he was on the floor, above average when he wasn't and terrible defensively when he played. The Spurs were much better defensively when he was off the court.

Nobody is using less than 9-10 with today's NBA rules.

Belinelli needs to take more shots! That's as simple a formula as it can get. The offense should be looking for opportunities to get Marco open.
I agree with op but want to take it further and just play 4 players. This is a game seven, you can't lean on the bench or even the fifth starter on a game like this. The refs will be looking to foul out poeltl, let's suprise them by scratching him from the game. The Spurs Dont have a true a SF, instead of playing DeMar as a three, let's put a help wanted sign on the floor and see if anyone (Durant, LeBron, kawhi plz) will sign up.

Play Walker, really? Lonnie is a headless chicken out there. Can't play someone who doesn't know what he's doing. There is a reason he plays garbage time only.
As for the rotation, we're gonna play 6 guys and Denver will play 9 or 10 be waaaay fresher than we are down the stretch and you expect a win?
Denver pushes the pace at home, goes for more possessions. If we shorten the rotation that drastically this game will be over in the first half.
None of all this matters if Murray is 100%, we're gonna lose anyway. They are not missing so many open threes at home.

It would be nice, I think he has the balls to come up big again on Saturday but Denver is going to give him no air at all. Him and Gay have to give us something in Denver.
