Was that even a realistic possibility?
As it is, I'm sure the Lakers will 'defy the odds' and win the non-broadcasted lottery.

Why? If not for the lack of testicles and a half-decent offensive gameplan we would have swept DEN, with good chances to go to WCF

Or maybe CLE, that would be a lovely scam :rollin

What am I thinking; of course it was realistic.
We all saw how nobody but Gay did anything when LMA and DDR were down tonight.
We could've just traded away Gay while we were at it, too.

Talk about a wasted opportunity.

Lol no.
Zion is not a franchise player.

He could be an all star his rookie season, tbh.

The Spurs would have never been in position to get him. By the time, people were asking to tank, the Spurs would have gotten the 11-12th pick, hardly going to make a difference

Maybe try trading DDR+LMA for Zion?
Like Denver should have tanked in 2014!
Instead, they got stuck with Nikola Jokic with the 41st pick when they could have had Andrew Wiggins with the No. 1 pick!
Or Jabari Parker (another can't miss Dukie) with pick No. 2!

Zion is a fake talent that relies 100 % on his atleticism. His actual basketball skills are very limited. So hell NO.

This makes no sense... They could have tanked, got a high pick, AND still got Niko

I'd rather have a chance at a top 10 pick than the 19th and a first round exit.

anyone with a good set of eyes and a brain saw Parker was shit at Duke. My local team here(ECU) ere down by 1 with 3 minutes to go in the game, at Cameron, shutting him down. Then the whistles started. They couldn't have a school that's only known for football, baseball, and partying beating a powerhouse like Duke on ESPN.
No. Keep playoff streak going. No telling if/when the Spurs will ever challenge for a title, but keeping the streaks that they can going keeps this franchise in the record books.

No, I wanted the consecutive playoffs record.

fuck that streak. It's like asking someone, "would you want to struggle financially for a year with a promise to have riches for the next 10-15?". Anyone saying no is a goddamn fool. At the beginning of the season, I said we should trade Aldridge to a garbage team for their pick in this year's draft(trust me, he wouldn't have led them to the playoffs), trade kawai to one of the worst team's in the league for the same deal, hoping he'd sit out again.. Then tank. That would have been 3 lottery picks. Even if we wouldn't have got the first pick, we are not that incompetent not to build a winning team with 3 lottery picks

Would I prefer to have the first-overall pick to having made the playoffs and being knocked out in the first round? Yes. Would I take a 13th- or 14th-overall pick over the 19th pick and a playoff? Nope. I would have supported a tank had the team never gotten it together in December. But I'm content to build with the young players the team has while making the playoffs for the next two years. Never know when a lucky pick or shrewd trade can come along to make the difference.
