View Full Version : Will the last 27-sec quit job pushes PATFO to reasses some of their players?

Sure, it was probably moot or inconsequential in the grand scheme of things, but wouldn't that mind-boggling moment of stupidity/non-chalance from LMA/Mills and everyone on-court prompt Pop and the front office brass to give a hard look at some of these players?
That episode, IMO, encapsulates everything we have been saying about the main pieces and faces of this roster: zero presence of mind and too much low-IQness saturating this squad that it is hard to expect this team as presently constructed to pull through even in series where they are more or less evenly-matched..
I continue to believe that our issue is not a shortage of top level-talent alone, but also lot more in intangibles: doggedness, fire, intelligence..etc..

The world might be coming to an end when I am hoping Dejounte Murray with all hi participation in coaching meetings and his desire to be a leader change this team. When he comes back. I do think he's got competitive spirit like no other in the team. Is other things he needs to work on.

True. The only thing with a remote chance of changing that is the rumored Aldridge & Lillard/Blazers reunion..I think if he pouts enough about it, they will "do good by him" and trade him back there.

I hope it's clear to everyone now that LMA and DDR need to be traded... LMA giving up in that game 7 completely overshadowed DDR's typical playoff failures...

After the 1st round exit from the Grizz, PATFO started getting big the next year or so. I like to think that getting overplayed by a more athletic team will convince to go back to a defensive juggernaut, can stop another team from scoring at will. DJ coming back and development of Lonnie should help. I sincerely hope they go away with anyone of Beli or Mills. Forbes proved that he belong, while Bertans should be above either Mills or Beli. I hope they get an athletic SF and a project big, prototype Baynes as enforcer.

If anything, the first half 34 points should make PATFO reassess basically every player....

How about TFO reassessing the P? If that's even possible.

More assess a hall of flame coach who took a. Team with 8 new players, should’ve won 50 games and was one quarter from the second round with a rag tag group?

of course they will. That shit wasn't lost on anyone. But that doesn't mean they can ship a bad contract.

So many posters have advocated for this player, or that player over the years. I would argue that by the time you're off of your rookie deal, it's too late to learn the Spurs Way. It's much easier to teach young players the "right way" than it is to teach someone who has already gotten paid. It was our two veteran multi All Stars, brought in after their "educate by" date had expired, that failed to know what to do.

This.
The game was lost in the first quarter. Getting the team ready to play when they step onto the court is the responsibility of the head coach.
Pop failed to do his job.

They didn't quit, all year. That's what made it a fun season. That was a screw up in a very bizarre game. That first half had more to do with the outcome than the 27 seconds. Denver should consider themselves very lucky that we were nothing like our Game 6 selves. We likely would have won if we score 30%, which is horrible, in the first half. That game was a nightmare for the first half at least.

Pop in his right ear screaming, clock directly in front of him across the court, hundreds of games with similar situations behind him...LMA quit.

It would be hard for me to think that they quit after fighting back all game to get within striking distance. If they wanted to quit, they would have never gotten back into the game in the first place.
I feel its more plausible that they were just dumb. We've seen plenty of dumb stuff from them. But patty "Corporate knowledge" Mills was part of that dumbness. It would be nice for Pop to finally realize that he's just a waste of money and space.
