OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) -- Golden State star Kevin Durant has left Game 5 of the Warriors' playoff series against the Houston Rockets with a strained right calf.

Durant limped to the locker room after landing awkwardly on his right foot following a baseline jumper with 2:11 left in the third quarter. The team says he will not return.

MRI scheduled for tomorrow, seems a non contact injury.

If KD is actually injured and has to sit out a week or more, the Dubs may get past the Rockettes but it will be a huge hit to their championship hopes.

One wonders if it's something worse. Just saying.

Feels like he's out for the playoffs, at least I hope..

Best-case scenario is GS still winning the Houston series, then not having Durant against Denver/Milwaukee..

Warriors don’t have a bench and Curry is a proven failed alpha. A Durant injury is the last thing an already vulnerable Warriors team needs.

Could be Achilles strain, because even a partial tear, he’d have had more difficulty walking.

I’ve had an Achilles strain before and it lingered for months. Of course I didn’t have the caliber of medical attention and treatment he will get. I did play ball on it, but it does make you feel very restrictive and cautious in movement, with planting and change of direction. I was told by a doctor that the good thing about a tear is that once they surgically repair it, it’s something like 90% that you won’t tear it again. Whereas if it’s a serious strain that doesn’t require surgery, it’s a very high probability that you’ll reaggravate or reinjure it again.

Agreed. Hopefully they take care of business in game 6 so none of us are subjected to Houston's disgusting brand of basketball any longer.

Best case scenario (for me): Warriors beat rockets, then lose in the next round to whoever. Then Bucks beat the raptors, giving the Bucks a path to the title.

What is funny if he is done for the playoffs with the Spurs choking they could have hypothetically had a great chance to make to make the finals if the Warriors get past Houston. Who am I kidding no back court giving Patty and Marco extended minutes in the playoffs would ever make the finals let alone get out of the first round.

Have some compassion. Harden was worried bout the status of his boy toy.

I was thinking about that. I really hate the Warriors, but the Rockets are just so dreadfully awful to watch. The only reason the series is remotely entertaining is because I hate the Warriors :lol can't imagine how boring, say, Portland and Houston would be as a series.

Confirmed Calif sprain he is out at least 1 week. He said he had the same injury in 2017 before the Portland series and he missed only 8 days.

Rockets will win game 6, but can they finally man up and win game 7 or will they choke again.

The latest reports are that he'll be "reevaluated next week," so he's out for the series and part of the next series (if they make it).

2. GSW’s ball movement was so much better without KD, but at the same time Iggy ro resist father time

Considering rockets bitched about CP3 going down in the exact same scenario last year, they better not choke.
